my car has the Immobilizer enabled..i can turn everything on but it wont crank over... How do i turn it offf??????? i cant find the Valet button under the dash and i need this car for work in 2 days! i dont have a dealership around here and no local shops know how to do it!

If there is a valet button it would be on the left about half way down under the steering column. It's the only little button around there.

i searched everywhere for it, i even took off the dash and bottom part of the dash lookin for the damn thing.. i really dont want to take to the dealership if its an easy fix..

You probably have an aftermarket alarm, my 2g came stock with a keyless but I have never seen a valet button stock.

its not aftermarket. the only things aftermarket are the handles and the stereo. but i still need to figure out how to reset the Immobilizer and its killin me! ME WANA DWIVE ME COMVOITUBEL. (btw dont take that seriously..)

It has to be aftermarket. Factory "alarms" don't have valet buttons at least not on ours. Post a picture of your key fob. Look underneath the steering wheel behind that cover by your shins. It will look like a rolo chocolate candy LOL if they have those where you live about half an inch round with one black wire and one gray I believe.

its the factory alarm, there is no button, i'll post a pic tomorrow.

My factory alarm sometimes goes off, put the key in the passenger door lock and turn it to the right side. Then try it. If no disconnect the negative cable for about 10 minutes. In all the times my factory alarm has never immobilized the car. Good luck

Dsms didn't have a factory valet. They don't even have an immobilizer.

yes there are. i looked it up, my car thinks its stolen so the ECU wont let the starter motor run.

Wherever you looked it up was wrong. To have an immobilizer you need a chipped key, which no dsm has. Mitsu started using them in 00 on the 3g. I have owned plenty of 2gs and can assure you, you don't.

Just disconnect the battery and come back in 30 min and you'll be good. If that doesn't work then either you don't have a factory alarm or the alarm is not the problem. Have you thought about the starter having an issue? Check the black terminal on the solenoid and make sure it is clipped in. After that start checking your relays under the left side of the steering column.

Not true. My buddies GST has a removable factory immobilizer chip right under the dash next to the obdII plug. They are very rare but were an option at least for 2g's. I never knew they existed until I saw his and did a little reading on them.

To the OP if your Dsm has this option make sure the chip is plugged in and making a good connection.

Also to add there is no immobilizer in my 96 talon, I have stripped all the wires and done a wire tuck. Trust me, there wasn't one there.

That's not an immobilizer that's a dealer perk they used so they didn't need a key to take customers on test drives. They used it to fire the car up without the key and just use a universal key they have for all vehicles. Completely different and was only on dealer cars using that system.

If this were true then why will his car not start without the chip installed?

It requires it to start. It's not an immobilizer its just a switch essentially with the chip being the closed circuit connector. A Mitsu immobilzer allows crank but no start. It'll fire up for 2-3 seconds and die. It doesnt disable the igniting completely. I have an kmmobilizer in my 3g and have deleted enough in evos to know how mitsus work.

left the battery off overnight and didnt do anything this morning.. so i'll check the starter even though its BURIED in the engine bay

A 3G eclipse and an evo is irrelevant to this conversation. I am still trying to grasp your previous post on how there is a universal dealer key to start our cars. Is this key not a key at all and in fact a chip that when inserted starts the car, turns on all accessories and unlocks the steering wheel? If not and it is a key that goes in the ignition like any other key why would a special chip be needed?

Actually they are completely relevant as if they had a FACTORY installed immobilizer it would operate the same as a 3g/evo. The chip you are speaking of was installed by DEALERS at certain dealerships as the sales associate would carry a chip that they could plug into any car on the lot and fire the car up with that single chip. Rather than removing the system when sold they wpuld simply insert a specific chip in that car to complete the circuit. The chip the sales associates carried was universal to the cars, the one installed after sale simply allowed the ignition system to operate normally. A FACTORY mitsubishi installed immobilizer is a chip in the KEY and disables the fuel and ignition system 3 seconds after firing up if the ecu doesn't recieve the voltage programmed into it by the factory. Each key had a different resistor to vary voltages. A FACTORY Mitsu immobilizer will crank and start the car without a chipped key but will kill it after 3 seconds, which isn't the case od thr OP, because they never came with an immobilizer
