All 95 GSX's came from the factory with 16 inch wheels, so yes they will fit. I too like the chrome 5 stars but good luck finding a set, I looked for months before I broke down and got my Rotas.

i have the regular non chrome gs ones that look like the 97-99 gst's and i love them.sorry but chrome on a dsm is just wacked out in my opini :dsm: :thumb: on

Only one is a full set of chrome wheels and they have no pics. Paying to ship wheels I have never seen is a big no no. I would personally never buy a set of used wheels without inspecting them first, just like I did with my Rota's.

okay, i plan to buy 17's. but here is where it gets tricky. I have been told several different things about the tires. I'm wanting a tire that has a pretty low profile and wide yet still gives great traction. I have been told that a 205-40-17 Is pretty much that. But then i have been told that the 205-40-17 is more narrow and that I shoudl go wiht a 215-45-17 but i don't want the tire height of the 45 series....

Could someone help me out in what im looking for?
Also im very very confused on which tire i should get. I'm looking at the "Cumhoe" ESCTA MX which from the reviews i have read is a great tire. The Yokohama avs es-100 which seems to be about like the escta but a little less expensive and faster tread wear, and finally the Falken azenis.

Tell me which you think is the better tire for hammering out the back roads, bobbin and weavin in and out of traffic, and occasional race.

You do want 45 series tires and the proper width depends a lot on the width of your wheels.

I can tell you exactly! what you need to know................ mathmaticly.........
the first 3 numbers......... 205 is 205mm wide......... we can fit 235's on our cars
the next 2 numbers is % of the first 3 that is profile in mm
and of course the last 2 rim size..... that is in in. of course......... so for example a 205/40/17 is a skinny tire with VERY tinny profile where a 205/50/17 would be the same skinny tire with a lil bigger profile........ I recomend that you pay attention to what factory size is, and stick with the same overall tire height......... if you want to do the math, inches to mm is inches X 25.4 don't forget you have profile on top and bottom of the rim add them both in. I am not sure of the factory size of what you have, but I have a 97, which came with 17's I just wanted widder........ so 235/45/17 is a perfect match (well, it's a couple mm off)

i don't want an extreeeeeemly wide tire but i want something with better grip. also wouldn't going with like a 225 be a lot more expensive over the 205 or 215? but i do want to go with a 45 series?

what about tires? what do u guys run and what would u reccomend with decent life that are still pretty sticky

I went 225/40/18, I love em, obviously my wheels are 18's, but I wanted a wider tire because even in second, once I started making power I would TEAR through, it was cool when I wanted to get it smoky, but that got old quick.

The 225's are wide enough for me, and they still have like 70 or so percent tread, and I don't even chirp second in them right now. I have Kumho Ecsta Supra 712, and for the street, other than some Potenza Firehawk's, I wouldn't mount any other tire.

k, you need to get away from the typical "series" a 205/45 and a 215/45 ARE 2 DIFFERENT TIRES! with the 215/45 being a taller tire with more "profile" you need to look at the width of your rim......... pick a width of tire that will work on it. typicly a wider tire has more traction. THEN FIGURE OUT THE "PROFILE" that gives you the closest to stock height....... that easy, or go smaller, bigger, whatever............

i was talking to grim4g63 and he said that he went with 215-45-17's and they are almost exactly to stock but stock being about .25 wider

all I know is that you shouldn't pick too low a profile, I would hate to replace tires that much, mine have lasted me almost 2 years now (granted I don't drive in the winter) but still, I think you should get some medium profile tires, and stay like that...granted the low profile looks alot better, you have to replace tires alot more...

k, here's the math for ya................
stock............ since I see you have a 98 I believe it came with the same as mine 97 tSI AWD
215/50/17=861.8mm (stock)
225/45/17=859.3mm(closest to stock)
225/40/17=836.8mm(really low profile)

Where are you getting those numbers from? Truck tires?

my98GST, do yourself a favor and read the FAQ's and articles on tires and wheels. If you want to compare sizes, use a reliable on line calculator like this one:

i work in a tire warehouse. 215 is the width of the tire, 45 is the percentage of the height, 215 divided by 45 is how high the tire is from the rim to the top, and obviously 17 is the rim size, and a truck tire would be more along the lines of 245/75r16, thats a truck tire size, any other questions about tires?

215/45r17 is the most bought 17" tire size, but since ur lookin for a wider tire, 225/40r17 would prolly be better like he said

now that i think about it, it was mentioned earlier. the thinner the tire the faster its going to have to be replaced. and we all know buying new tires is a pain. so im thinking of either some 215-45-17 or 225-45-17 because .5 in higher isn't going to kill me and its going to last a little longer.

Alright now for the wheels, im looking at some Racing Hart c2's but i need to know the off set ect ect

Big spender...if you can, try and find a decent set for sale on the tuner forums, that's where I got mine for a BIG TIME discount...then you can use the rest of the $ for actual power modifications :dsm:

Lug spacing 114.3 x 5
Offset depends on selection of wheel width and tire width. 38 to 40mm offset is most common.

Stock on an Escalade maybe. You're only off a couple hundred millimeters.

I thought I rather kindly pointed out your mistake.
