Ok i will try to sum up my q / situation .

I have 97 Turbo Std FWD Eclipse doing a engine swap from a 94 7 bolt

(I know odd don't know why but this 94 had 7bolt crank with all controls/acc block design of a 6 bolt but it help me keep alum flywheel)

the 94 was AWD std Turbo

All mods have been done Thanks to search on this forum. Now nstallation there is no starter bracket that I can find. The starter bolt directly to my FWD 97 Tranny The bellhousings all appear the same and I don't remember what I took off but the lower bellhousing bolt below the starter with the alignment pin has threads on both engine and tranny

Is that the only actual engine to tranny on that side of the engine?
Or is there anther bracet that I am readabout that I have misplaced?

Could someone explain this bracket or guide me I don't want to have to pull the tranny after I get everthing else connected.

Thankyou

The only other thing I thought of or just sittin here banging head is a special bolt to go through one set of threads then shank down and hit the tranny threads (I believe there is threads in tranny)

also a lil thread Bump

Just ran into this today while installing the transmission in my son's GST. That particular bolt is smaller (8mm) than the other 4 (10mm). Put the bolt thru the engine side first, the threads won't catch because the threads in the engine are 10mm, then thread the bolt into the transmission. The threads in the transmission should match the bolt (8mm). The other 4 bolts (10mm) are the opposite, they go through the transmission holes first then thread into the engine.
