Hello i got this oil pump leak from a number 10 bolt ontop of the right balance shaft pulley. I put a new oil pump and all the video ive seen about the 7 bolt oill pump is that there is a plug there that nobody messes with. My new pump didnt have one. Before i remove the old one from the old pump, can i re-use this plug? Anyone know how i can fix this? Can i put a downty washer there?

Without the tool it is hard as stated. I just bought new instead. Good luck. I wouldn’t run the engine anymore and try to clean any oil off the timing belt/drive gears.

its not a pain. I used a flat screw driver and a hammer. just kept hitting it on its sides to turn counter clockwise and it worked. similar to some fuel pump contraptions. did them same when i put it on the new oil pump with a new O-ring. Didn't take off timing belt either, I took the nut off the balance shaft and carefully pried it back enough for that plug to fit. Everything is back on and I'm about to find out

Still No leaks. Put a new O-ring the exact size of the Oring groove and nothing leaked. Hammer and flat head works just put the flathead on the piece that moves and not against the oil pump. For who ever deals with this next
