Hey guys, I have a 99 RS with the 420 engine. My oil pressure switch started leaking oil recently and since I live in Eastern Europe, there's no way for me to find any sort of replacement, not even brand new. OEM ones go for 60USD+ and have months of delivery. I daily the car and need to replace something quickly, so I guess that my only option is to fit another oil pressure switch from a different car.
Here comes my question - what is the thread size of the OEM 420a so I can find a T or something to screw into it, then screw the other thread size pressure sender I find? I'm talking about the sensor that shows the light on the dash if you have no oil (in the middle of the block on the rear).
I also have ordered an oil temperature gauge and I need a place to install the sensor for it (same as the water temp sensor, small one) and I guess that the T-thing I can find to screw there will work for me to drill a hole and screw that sensor in. I also plan on buying an external oil pressure gauge as well so it will be great if I can fit something that later I can place that sender there as well without removing the old one.

this is the switch i am talking about - 04226

The stock oil pressure sender should be 3/8 npt.

Thanks, I guess they are different for the 4G63 since it's a japanese built motor whereas the 420a is from the USA, i'd expect them to be different, right? Because there's a 4g63 for parts near me, and if the senders are compatible I can just get one off those. I guess they wont fit though.

any chrysler car with the 2.7L engine should use the same oil pressure switch.
or any chrysler neon or pt cruiser with petrol engine.
I don't know about the diesel engines since we don't have them here but chances are they aren't the same.

Like silvreclips already said:
its 3/8 NPT

420a's 3/8" NPT vs 1/2" NPT

Strange, I have a 1/2 npt pipe off to a tee, running my opsu and mechanical gauge. Threaded into the original sending location on the block. That’s crazy
