Resolved 2G No boost. Blown Turbo?

I lost all boost yesterday I was driving and did 80 and all of the sudden the boost gauge went to 0. You can hear the turbo spooling but it doesn't boost as if something was disconnected what can this be?

hmmm check your wastegate vac line.

Do a boost leak check, also check wastegate and boost controller and boost gauge.

no i dont have a boost controller, i should of mentioned that i have a bone stock talon, stock t25 only thing on this car is an auto meter boost gauge

Does the boost gauge show vac?

yes the gauge shows vac and it also shows boost 5psi to be exact, and like i said you can hear the turbo but it only hits 5psi and then starts to sputter, i also noticed the lower ic pipe is a bit loose can this be the problem, it was working fine before, i was running full boost for about 5 seconds and then the bov opened as if i had realeased the throttle, is the turbo gone??

Intercooler pipe popped off. They shouldn't be loose at all.

that would do it, tighten those couplers down and see what happens. you can check the turbo for shaft play too

It shouldn't be loose, but you should do a blt

Check the wastegate flapper assembly, could be stuck open, which would still give you the sound of the turbo spooling but no boost being built because all the pressure is being bled off

i checked for shaft play and theres a little bit (side to side) about 1 mm.

I had a similar issue; the 22 year old cotter pin on the WGA arm broke and fell off, causing the arm to come off the gate at least the gate was open when it happened

Boost leak test it and I bet it's an intercooler hose or an old hose finally blew for old age.

I had a similar problem, my boost gauge wire was a little loose in the back and i taped it to the gauge and stopped it

check the intercooler hoses especialy if they are the stock hoses. like said above check the wastegate and vac line. boost leak test. it might be something as simple at a blown hose

If the Turbo still spools up than its the gauge is it an electronic, or manual boost gauge?

Op do you mean your not seeing any boost on the gauge but it still feels like it is pulling like it was? Or the gauge is working and the car does not feel like it is boosting properly?

its a manual boost gauge, i will check all the hoses,thanks for all the input everyone.

Follow the line off the gauge.... a lot of people are lazy and use the supplied T and fittings with autometer products and usually t in around the BOV Im almost certain that line just popped out of the t fitting so your gauge isn't reading go check it out

Ha ha, defiantly blew off a IC pipe! I remember that used to happen a lot to me. If it pops off once, it just don't stop. Do you notice any smoke coming out the exhaust when attempting to boost??

checked the gauge lines and they are secure nothing wrong in that department, the car does not smoke at all, the car starts spooling but it doesnt go past 5psi if i try to push it starts sputtering, like i said i was boosting 14 psi for about 5 seconds and then the bov opened as if i had realeased the throttle.

I would say your next step is do a boost leak test. They are very easy to do. If you don't already have a tester, they are easy to build.this is the video I copied mine from.

Ive had my Eclipse for a week, day one when I bought it I was driving home, decided to drop it in 3rd on the freeway and pass a semi... well, about 3 seconds after hitting WOT my upper IC pipe blew out of the rubber boot and killed the car/ smoked out the whole freeway behind me haha. I thought I for sure blew it up a half hour after I bought it, popped the hood and noticed it right away. The T-clamp was finger tight and I could actually slip the pipe back in without adjusting the clamp...

When I got home I tightened all of them and any other suspect bolt/ clamps I could find, no problems since

Like others have said, do a boost leak test and inspect your clamps/ rubber fittings and hoses
