How are you going to control the valves with a vtec controller? The whole motor works together, as a whole. You can't just control the valves and have the rest of the motor operating.

You have to undertsnad how a vtec controller works to understand what he's trying to do with that. But the kicker is a vtech controller is only designed to work with a vtech style head with vtech controller. You would have to add a vtech controller to the system which is a task in itself forget wether or not your science project will be effecient or not just getting it to work will be a task in it'self. Good luck though sounds fun.

I understand perfectly well how a vtec controller and a vtec solenoid works. It's based on oil pressure and an electronic signal via engine rpms. If either do not work, vtec will not engage. But running on a second cam profile is not the same a running a whole motor.

I'm not running a whole motor, nor am i running vtec. I'm using a vtec controller's ability to pull RPMs and use that as a O/I switch for my valve instead of the vtec solenoid.
