2g n/t for a 1g awd turbo?

"News update" haha I spoke with the guy thats selling the car and he said that he got the head off saturday and brought the head to a shop to get resurfaced before he puts the headgasket on. He said the timing belt was perfectly intact and fine but was just about to break so hes replacing that for me too. So everything thing shold be done by tommorow(according to him)..

if the timing belt was fine, then why wouldnt it start?

If this guy is going through all this erroft to make this car run for you, he must really want to get rid of it, OR he really wants your car... being as yours isn't a turbo, I'm going with the first option... be wary... also, don't be afraid to look around, it's not that far to drive a state or two over...

I would trade if I were you! But when he does get it runing take for a long test drive and check it over twice! IF every thing checks out then ya go for it, and as far as down time when I got my car it had a broke t-belt. I put a rebuilt head on did all the maintince items and have been driving it since with no problems at all! It will all depend on how well the others who have owned kept it up!

Well i did the trade this morning and everything is good, new belts, new head gasket, new valve cover gasket and new intake manifold gastket and a new water pump. Runs like a champ
