Hey my name is Tiffaney... Im alittle confused on witch way I wanna go, Im running dsm link and a 3in. gm maf right now car runs ok, but I thought about switching back to a stock 2g mass air just for tuning issues, maybe it will be alittle eaiser to tune... Also I have some problems with cold start and idling alittle rough until warm maybe 2g mass would get rid of that... My main question is would it be worth it and benefit my tuning to switch back and would I over run the stock mass air? Also what is the 2g mass air good for I think I read it was good to 425 hp is this correct? Sorry if this is in the wrong section any help will be appreciated.... :)

U most likely have issues from something else than the maf. I run a gm maf and I have a pretty good idle and tune. The 2g maf has proven up to 500whp so u would be fine going back with the turbo u have. Main issue with the gm maf is a wondering tune. If the outside temp changes the tune does also.

Well the idle isnt really that bad its got alot better.. I posted a log on link forums and we got it pretty much work out the isc and tps was off plus my timing curve was affecting idle alittle.... I have heard about the gm maf wondering.. Just curious im planning on getting meth injection at the end of april and maybe a hx 35 setup or something similar would the 2g mass still be alright on 24psi or would a evo/3g mass be a better route? Thanks alot for the quick response... The only reason I would consider switching to a stock mass would be to make tuning easier...

I'd agree with Jason. When I was on a GM MAF, I had a very good tune on it. I did have to change it between cold and hot weather, but other than that, it was great. It's more personal preference and looks at that point.

And if you want to be able to vent your bov properly :p

I agree but to be honest tiffany i had alot of trouble with mine unless your able to tune yours i wouldnt do it but each is its own lots of people love the lil horsepower in the box:rocks:

or just ditch the maf, get a map and iat sensor, and run a speed density on there, i think v3 allows sd setups right? it wont matter much how much the air temp changes, it compensates a lot better than just a maf :)

Im not using the translator box, im using the maf wire from dsm link......... Which would be better with meth stock mass or gm?

Well I went with the 3g mass air and it seems to work great..Got the plug and play harness from jeff (key diver)...
