Alright, so I plan on upgrading my 1g maf to a 2g. So I will need to change the pipe as well. But what I am wondering is if just buying a 2g intake pipe will fit in the 1g. I have heard that it is too long, but then I have heard of guys doing it. So I guess I am just trying to get some more opinions on the topic. I know there is a pipe made for this, but its a little pricey. Anybody on here running a regular 2g pipe in a 1g? Lets see them. :D

Thanks in advance

I've had a 2g mas in both a 1ga and 1gb. It is a bit tricky to get it to fit in a 1ga due to the flip up motor.
Here's a mock up in my 1ga back when I had it.

And here's my 1gb. Fits a lot easier with out that motor right there but still a little snug without the right size filter.

I forgot to mention the "custom" recirc tube you will need..I used a peice of old vaccume hose,So did jaxness.."Custom" not rigged, remember that.

Or go to your local auto parts store for the shiny aluminum vaccume looking hose...Its like 3 bux.

I ran the stock 2g pipe in my 1ga just fine. A little hard to fit a cone on the end but you can make it work with a smaller one.

If you are reall yon a budget, you can heat up the stock intake with a heat gun and stretch it over the 2g MAF. That's what I have

Is there any intake pipe solutions for me since I want to run my buschur short route kit with the evo 8 maf?
Anything designed for a 1G as the 1G and Evo VIII MAS are both right at 3" O.D.

The Evo VIII mas is slightly shorter too isn't it?
Than a 2G MAS, maybe...but a 1G MAS is located inside the air filter- so it's the biggest space-saver of the three if length is your issue.

Just do this and save your money. I tried the 2g Injen pipe and it left no room for a filter. Even if you managed to squeeze in a filter you will have a choked out engine. I just used my stock pipe and ran a nice large aftermarket filter.

Cool. Thanks Justin. I was planning on running an FP intake pipe with the Evo III MAS and as big a filter as I can fit. I've read a bunch of threads where people say you can't fit an FP pipe, MAS, and filter in the 1g engine bay but sounds like with the shorter EVO MAS and a shorter filter, I might be able to get by with it.

Can you use the stock pipe with a short route FMIC kit (ie: Buschur)?
