2g intake pipe in a 1g?

Alright, so I plan on upgrading my 1g maf to a 2g. So I will need to change the pipe as well. But what I am wondering is if just buying a 2g intake pipe will fit in the 1g. I have heard that it is too long, but then I have heard of guys doing it. So I guess I am just trying to get some more opinions on the topic. I know there is a pipe made for this, but its a little pricey. Anybody on here running a regular 2g pipe in a 1g? Lets see them.
