Hi. I’ve done a fair bit of searching to no avail. Back story I recently did a clutch and power steering rack install on my 2G AWD 5 speed. While repairing car I came across The unidentified electrical connector or sensor in the attached pictures. I’m hoping somebody can help me identify it.
As today I was driving the car it just died, I checked the fuses. Had a blown 30 Amp under hood Ignition fuse. I wrapped unidentified item (in pics) in electrical tape, suspended it away from metal for now (It was resting on top of the transmission) so I also Replaced the fuse and the car now runs.
I’ll attach a few pictures. Just can’t figure out what this electrical connector or sensor is for? I wonder if It could cause my Ignition fuse to blow. I was also thinking could of been my strut bar but it’s wrapped in electrical tape near positive battery terminal. As always I appreciate the insights and help identifying this item.

It's called the generator relay in the Mitsu manual. From the Mitsu manual: "The generator relay functions as a backup for the flow of electricity to the rotor coil (field coil) if there is a disconnection or damaged wiring of the charging warning light." It actually is a resistor and diode in series but looks like and is referred to as a relay. (FYI: It is connected in parallel to the charging warning light, it's diode and the 10A fuse.)
