2g head lying around. what can i do??

so i've got a complete 2g head lying around with no problems. to b honest i'm not too familiar with upgrading or making engine internals better. i am on an extreme budget and don't wanna give the project a whole lotta my money. however, i would like to take this head and swap it to my new eclipse project. what upgrades could i do for a little improvement and overall durability and efficiency.

Take it all apart and check that all the parts are within the factory service limits. Then clear up all the rough parts in the casting of the intake/exhaust ports. And when you are putting it back together use new cams instead of your stock ones, and do a 5 angle valve job too. The main thing is you don't want to put a head on your car that is going to fail you shortly down the road. It might be more work than you know getting it on in the first place and it would suck to have to take it all back off again.

what does a 5 angle valve job require and what r the benefits? i know all about hks cams, are there any out there that are more affordable? when u say clean up the rough edges, do you mean porting? sorry about the newb q's

For the valve job just take your valves to a shop and let them do it. It will just improve on the flow of the head. One of my friends did mine for me. Not sure on the price of having that done. As far as cleaning up the head you probable really don't want to mess around with taking out material in an attempt to increase flow rate. All you want to do is smooth down all the areas that are a little rough. You should be able to tell what I mean by looking at your head. HKS cams are good. Others that you could look at are Forced Performance and Comp cams. I have Comp 101200's in my car now, Comp also offers the 101100's for those who are a little less into performance.
