Alright so I rebuilt my motor over the winter, did all the work my self except the machining part, I put new valves in the head because I got a good deal on a set of SS valves, bronze valve guides, and 3g lifters, well I didn't have the head surfaced like I should have ( I didn't have a job at the time but now I do). I did put in new stem seals. All I did was lap the new valves in and didn't have the guides put in. My car started smoking the other day
, so I decided to investigate and what I did was pull my manifold to check the seals and yup they are leaking
so now that I got a job I am thinking about pulling the head, having it surfaced, 3 angle valve job, and have to guides put in, only problem with me not having it surfaced and guides done and pulling the head is, I dont have another car, so what should I do here I have to get to work I cant keep using my moms crappy explorer its a gas pig. I know you can pull the springs and seals with the head on the car should I just buy the tool and do it in the car and wait or what. Any suggestions will help out
