Resolved 2g GSX won’t go in gear when car started

I just bought a 5speed 1998 gsx to replace my 97 gst the only issue with car is it will it go into gear when car is on ive done some research and seems like there are a few things it could be I’m looking if possible for a list of everything that it could be and I’ll just replace all at once got a steal on the car don’t mind going nuts to make sure it’s fixed

You said the slave was a little moist you could of had a small amount of fluids get on the cluch its self now leading it to slip. Dose it look like the flywheel if burnt up at all?

Slave is outside. Cant leak on the clutch.

The clutch looked dry also from what I could see from the clutch fork hole. I think mattp_65 is tights everything else seems to be connected and correct. I can only see the pressure plate through the inspection hole but the fork pivot ball and tob all look to be ok

I bet a spring popped out of the clutch disc and lodged itself and got stuck between flywheel and clutch.

I wish this would have been a year ago... I had the same problem, clutch to floor and would not reset. Replaced Master because I thought it had to be the master not producing pressure. Bad move, did the same thing on the brand new master. Seeing this would have saved me a lot of head scratching and money. I didn't think to check the clutch until after a new master failed to solve the problem.

Yep mattp_65 was 100% correct it was a spring that broke off clutch disc
