I've searched and cannot find any threads on where to buy a OEM lower bumper support piece for the 2G front bumpers. If anyone could give me some info and help me out I would appreciate it. Also I've seen a few guys on here that made their own supports for the bottom of the bumper, and for under the headlights (where my bumper is also warped looking) so if you guys would like to make a little cash and fabricate up some more supports let me know. I am in DESPERATE NEED!?

Are you talking about the lowest metal bracket that bolts to the very bottom of the bumper cover? It looks like a very thin piece of angle-iron ("L"-shaped cross section) and is bolted to the cover with I think 9 bolts. The nuts are welded to the bracket.

If you still have yours but it's bent, you *can* bend it back into shape...unless it's mangled. I just picked up a used 2gb Talon cover that had some bent/twisted parts of that support, and I used my hands, a vice, two pairs of pliers, and a tack and normal hammer to bend/twist/clamp/bash it back into the proper shape.

There is another plastic piece as well. That bracket has 4 or 5 holes in the vertical portion of the bracket. The plastic piece connects the metal bracket to the rest of the car. Mine disappeared at some point in the past 12 years and I didn't notice it until I was taking the cover off to fix the bracket I think you're talking about (I bent my stock one back into shape and the used one I just bought back into shape).

Anyway, if you find a 2ga/2gb talon/eclipse bracket, I think they're the same. I know the 2gb talon/eclipse parts are the same. The metal is very thin, so you can pretty easily manhandle it back into the correct shape.

Here are the part numbers from CAPS, if you want to get a new one.

I'll never understand these "Where do I find this OEM part?!?! LOL" threads. Call the freaking dealer already. They do carry these, and other OEM parts. I know, as I bought two (one spare in case I ruin another one heh).

Damn it is from 2007, I thought it was from 2008. :coy:

Btw, I just ordered that part of the dealership this afternoon - $16 + tax.

Hahaha. You suckered me in. But I found out more about that part in the process, so it's all good. So was that from a Mitsu or Chrysler dealership? They're a block apart for me, and they're the same for both, so it doesn't really matter, but I'm curious if Chrysler still sells Talon parts.

I have an Eclipse 2Gb front bumper and since my "club member" discount only applies to my local Mitsubishi dealership, that is where I always go to get parts. The parts guy said that the 97-99 front eclipse bumpers have two different part numbers, so I got the newest one, I'm assuming it is a better version where the bolts strip out of the lower plastic lip on the bumper, but I plan to get some washers and zinc plated bolts from home depot before I install it.

Okay, I'm confused. Which part did the parts guy say was different: the bumper cover or the bracket?
