2g engine, 5 speed vs. auto any differences?

well after 1 month of ownong my 2g it decided to crankwalk i found a 5 speed complete engine for it on ebay wich comes wth tranny and ecu ect... i was wondering if just the engine would work on my automatic 2g? i figured id sale off the tranny and get some of my money back for the engine.
