Alright so, some of you may remember but I had a post about idling problems and it turns out that it is my throttle body that needs replacing... I have found a new throttle body on ebay that looks like a good purchase just want to see what you guys think.

It is ported to 57mm as the stock 2G are only 52mm from what I hear. In one post that i have found is that its a good idea to port the manifold as well, its it that necessary?? Keep in mind though it was a guy putting a 1G into a 2G.. and the 1G are 60mm stock.. but anyways heres the link for the ebay throttle body:

Go ahead and get a 1g 63mm TB from this guy; it's only $20 more. He does good work. I've had mine for a couple years now with no problems. He also has a website and sells sensors and gasket also.

While your at it port-match the IM to the TB, if your still using a stock 2g IM. Some will say you can do this while the IM is on the car; just stuff it with greasy rags. I recommend taking the IM off to do this.

I kind of wanted the 2g because i didnt want to do the extra mods like longer vacuum lines and such but is it better to go with the 1g you suggested??

Performance wise, the 1g TB they are selling is 63mm vs. the 57mm TB your considering. It all comes down to the compacity to flow more air, which in turn gives you the potential for more power; even a stock 1g TB at 60mm will "flow" more than that 57mm 2g TB. If your going run a SMIM you'll most likely have the option to upgrade to an even bigger, 75mm TB, but they will not work with a stock IM.

Note that these (throttlebodys.com) TB's have the "half-shaft" mod (popular with the Grand National crowd), which they claim makes it more like 65mm. For the price it's hard to beat. It just depends on what your going for; a stock, low cost, replacement or a budget, performance modification. Any one of these will be better than the stock 52mm TB.

Still, it's only $20 more...:sneaky:

Cool, thanks for the help.. Sorry to say but I went with the 57mm just because Im not really planning on making a lot of power with this car.. And yes I really hope Im not gonna regret buying the smaller TB...for performance wise anyway
