1g ebay throttle body??

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

These do not have provisions for the Idle speed Control motor, amongst other thingsand are more intended for dedicated track whores. Just spend 100.00 more and get the one being sold by one of the vendors here which is nearly direct bolt on and has provisions for all the stock sensors. Honestly, 99.9% of everybody here has no need for a TB upgrade anyway.

i have been having a hard time finding an aftermarket throttle body for a 90 talon, one that is direct bolt on anyway, which one do you sugest?

That throttle body is interesting to say the least. Iv always been a fan of cheaper products that can hold there own. (like most on ebay)

Able to Install the OEM ISC ( Idle Speed control ) or Cover up using the Provided spacer.
Bolt up your stock TPS directly without modification.

I don't see where you can bolt up the ISC or TPS. You can tell by the pictures that you can bolt it up or block it off. I'm often curious as to how any popular companies like AEM, or Greddy etc. ever became popular. They were all new once, just like these companies. People had to take a chance or there would be no new products or companies.

Why are you looking for an aftermarket TB? You aren't at a point where the larger 1g TB is a restriction, nor do many people actually need one.

If you are planning on a full blown track setup then go with the Mustang TB matched up to a JMF Drag manifold.

i have alot done to it, i was gonna go that route, but i already have a sheetmetal intake that is matched up for a stock throttle body was kinda wanting to keep it

The TPS does bolt up to it in the same location as you would on an OEM TB. The ICS however would be deleted unless you choose to bolt on an OEM TB bottom end to utilize an ICS.

You should fill out your profile so it's easier for people to help you out. Also please use proper grammar and spelling :)

Honestly I say go for it and write a product review on how well it performs. This way more people in the future could look at it and made a decision on if they would want to get one or not.

I did send out a message to the seller asking about how the ICS is utilized and if the lower portion of an OEM TB is to be used, is the FIAV still functional or not. I also asked about a pressure test to ensure they are leak free.

If you did not take notice, the IM will need to be bored out to 70mm, the same size as the Mustang TB but I would assume the bolt patter is different between the two styles.

I got a reply from the seller and this is what he has to say. Seems pretty good.

Q:
You mention the use of the ICS/IAC. In order to use it, one would need to remove the bottom half of an OEM TB correct? If doing so, is the FIAV functional or is that blocked off from machining and only the ICS is able to receive air flow?

Are these are pressure tested and to what PSI are they tested to to verify they are leak free.

A:
if you need to use the isc , the just remove the plate and bolt right on. some cars disable the ics and use a external idle control through the intake manifold.

the shaft are ball bearing and with oil seal,
base pressure tested at 30psi no leaks , never take further pressure because no sign of leaks.
talking about boost leak on the throttle shaft , if they leaks i dont think it will be huge difference because the shaft and bearing tolarence are very tight.

Anyone willing to try one out and write a review on it?

I concur on the use of the factory piece in high hp applications. The main reason I tend to avoid so called "EBAY" parts, is mainly due to warranty issues as most dont offer any warranty and even if they do, it can be a nightmare. (Look at the China turbos and the blow off valves which use inferior diaphragm material resulting in premature failure, for example) This does look like a nice piece, and I wasnt bashing it per say, and may even try one down the road, but Id almost certainly go the one in the link below simply because, though it costs more, this vendor probably will provide better customer service, and if there are any issues with the product, Itll most likely be taken care of. Just my opinion, take it for what you will.

I wish I had some pictures but I did see one of these ebay units in person the other day.

It looks nice and I did compliment on it and then the mechanic laughed and said to take another look at it since one customer had one he was putting on his Honda.

Picked it up, wasn't too heavy and proceded to open the throttle by rotating the spring wheel. Well first thing I noticed was the spring was "sticky" as in you could feel it binding up the whole way around. I'm sure some good lubrication would help solve that issue there. The other issue was the fact that the throttle did NOT open up a full 90* from the closed position. It was more like 80*.

There is no way to adjust the stop point unless you drill a new hole and re tap it for the stop pin. The TB was a 70mm IIRC so you are still getting a massive amount of airflow past the plate regardless if it is opening up fully or not.

Take it for what it's worth.
