i'm looking for throttle body's and decided to look for a 1g throttle. they have 4 pins for the vacuum line..my 2g's only have 2 pins..hard to explain...looks just like this one picture here. don't mind the green circle..

the 1g has four pins. so let's say i'm going to do the swap. how am i going to connect these vacuum line's to the four pins. i've search around but no other information on the pins..
i know how to do everything else but the vacuum lines and the pins.. thanks ..any pictures or diagram would be nice.

oh yeah. i'm doing this swap b/c my 2g throttle body have major leaks, so i thought i mind as well get the 1g.

Your best bet will be to stick with the 2g throttle body. The 1g is bigger than the 2g throttle body and doesn't match up to the 2g intake manifold. You can just eliminate all of those vacuum lines and loop them together but to keep it simple use a 2g. Here is a fantastic place, I recommend them. They redid my throttle body for me and it is fantastic.

well i really don't mind doing all the porting job on my intake manifold, switch my tps sensors just so they will be the same.. if anyone can show how to reloop all the vacuum lines around the four pins would be great.. i feel like i have no top end so that might be an upgrade decision for me with more airflow..

i've seen the sight DSM THrottle Bodys, and with little trouble and cost, i'd rather buy a 1g that i found cheaper and performs better. all bead blast with all new seal including gaskets and everything for aound $120.00.

It took me hours of searching to find the right way to hook up the vacum lines to a 1g tb... Because my car is a 98 it has two ports on the TB, so do the 99's. 97's are the ones with 3 ports on their TB. Heres the link I used to fix my vacume lines. Post 5...

Here is how it looks like on my car...

My idle was a tiny bit bouncy for about a week but now it holds strong wherever I set it. Hope this helps

How about the diagram for us 2G'ers with 3 ports on the tb ? I'm interested in doing this tb swap as well.

Depending on what your trying to accomplish with your car, have you considered the JMfab SMIM? There are hardly any worries as far as vac lines to hook up. It's pretty straight forward. You can also get the SMIM flanged for a 1g TB. From what i understand, the 1g n/t TB is also a good idea because you dont have to use the elbow that restricts airflow to the intake manifold. I just sent my 1g n/t TB to steve at throttlebodys.com and he's installing the turbo shaft seals, and boring it to a 63mm. You can still send it to him to have the 2g rebuilt to specs similar to aftermarket 2g TB's but it's lighter on the budget. Check it out. You have to contact Steve by email unless you have already purchased from him. He gets back to you really quick though.

Sorry, i didnt notice this before. The 1g rebuild is about 130.00 i think. you could probably find a 1g tb for a pretty decent price. But in the end you can still end up cheaper than buying an aftermarket TB. Just a thought. hope it helps

anyone with 95/96 confirm i did this correctly....

just wanted to contribute some better pics, and also check to see that i properly routed the vacuum lines correctly... There were never any clear pics for early 2gs with 1g swap with lines all in tact, so hope this helps others in the future..

per RRE's directions..

One at a time, remove the old short vacuum lines and replace them with longer ones.

If you are still running with your EGR, the following will be necessary for proper EGR
It's simple, cap off the E line as well as the angled line (marked A1 or something). Then with a T, split the P line to go to where P and E used to go.

In effect drive the E line, (EGR) with the source from P.

The problem is that the 1G EGR and the 2G EGR are sourced differently inside the throttle body. The 2G EGR has vacuum at idle but the 1G does not.

The angled port is actually A2

per their directions everything is straight forward, but they fail to tell you where that last A1 port is suppose to go? Well there was only 1 other port open so it was process of elimination, and hope everything is correct.

Been running like this for 2 weeks now with no ill effects, at least that I notice.

its about time that rre write up is redone or someone make a new one to compliment all the years and more specific on the lines, theres enough info to find out if its searched, but it would be nice to have it all in one page ;)
