When performing a vacuum leak test my BBK was leaking from the butterfly seal on the TPS side. Is the repairable or common?

Also, I installed a 1G TB to see if it leaked as well, it did not, but I heard hissing from under the valve cover, intake side at the no. 4 piston area with air applied. I'm new to boost leak testing so idk what is normal and what is not. My issues are engine falling on it's face >10 lbs. and extremely high idle. As for the idle I believe the CC assembly is binding, but I'm not 100%.

toss the bbk, they are junk! :barf:

fix the leaks one at a time. check the PCV valve, buy a oneway check valve and install it between the pcv and the intake mani

High idle is probably post-TB leaks.

The BBK TB was never designed for forced induction. It doesn't have shaft seals intended for positive pressure. If you want to continue running that TB, look into replacing the seals with something similar to our OEM shaft seals. I know FFTEC was reworking BBK TB's years ago, and that was one of the things they did to them.
