bbk throttle body?

im looking to do another cheeper upgrade, and i was thinking about bolting on a BBK throttle body.... i currently have a 2g one on my car and i know that the 1g is a nice upgrade and the BBK one is bigger than that... has anyone ever used this part and knowticed a difference / is it worth doing?

It would be more cost effective and easier just to go with a 1g TB. People have been sub 10 seconds with the 1g TB.

Also, keep your 2g throttle body elbow. The 2g flows better than the 1g.

Ive read my share of horror stories concering Accufab and BBKs throttle body shafts breaking. I am not sure about their designs to date, but I know their older units had problems.

After seeing what an NT/1G throttle body can support, I can't see why anyone would bother with the aftermarket units, aside from 900whp+ cars. Too many headaches for the margainal (If any) gains to be had.

If you are dead set on it, pick yourself up a 1G and have fun.

what type of headaches are you talking about? because i am thinking about getting the BBK while i get my front mount put on...not a smart idea?...i drive a 98 GSX

Id go with the 1g i like it on mine and i have also heard bad things about the aluminam tb's its an easy and cheep tb to put on. Also im with ericbev it really wont help you out untill you have a quite a bit of power and need that extra air. but remember if you do this the intake manifold needs to be hoged out around the flange to to let the extra air threw the flange area to between tb and intake mani. You can do it on the car just put a rag into the mani and then suck it out with a shop vac to make sure you get all the shavings a die grinder does a great job. Good luck
