2G drive/passenger doors onto a 1g?

So I have a 90 talon, and what seems to be true in most cases seems to be true in this case, the entire interior is shot....completely destroyed (including melting a 4" hole into the dash) I have no clue how it happened :S




Anyways, So as I am restoring this thing, I am putting a interior into it. I have a parts car that has a almost perfect interior, so I am swapping everything. Dash, Steering wheel, seats, carpet, plastic molding...everything.


So here is the question:


My car is a 1g 1990 talon, my parts car is a 2g 94 laser....are the doors swappable?


I know there is some body difference (duh) in the 1G and the 2G...but wasn't sure about the doors.

They never made a 2g laser. Are you sure its not a 1g laser or a 2g talon?

well it doesn't have the pop up headlights, and a more "rounded"? body.....And it says Plymouth all over it...

....(I'm new to DSM, but yeah I thought it was a 2G laser)

i think what he mean's is a 1gB? the laser was only made from 90-94, just like every other 1G, (talon, eclipse) almost everything should swap body wise, with some work, you probably could even get the front clip on there haha

Aight...so its not a 2g. Its a 1Gb. What are the differences? (from a 1g, to a 1gb?), Anyways but that answers my question.

the interior should be pretty much the same, some differences would be the front clip(pop lights and non) the rear would have a different bumper tail light set up, but the stuff your swapping should be pretty straight forward.

This has been covered in discussions before... but, a "1ga" DSM has the flip up headlights, different bumpers, different spoilers... and was produced from 90-91. The "1gb" cars had the same chassis and were produced from 92-94, but no flip up headlights and the bumpers were a little more rounded. In 95, the entire car was redesigned and is known as a "2g" car. From 95-96 the Talon and Eclipse had the "smiley" front bumper, the Talon had the thumbnail spoiler and the Eclipse had a lower profile spoiler that is found on the convertibles. In 97 the cars got a makeover and Talon had a more aggressive front bumper and a higher spoiler, the rear bumper changed a little bit, no side skirts and instead had teh side strakes on the doors. the Eclipse had the basket handle spoiler, different front bumper with a large opening, different headlights....
