I have been searching for a write up on this but have yet to find one. All I have found is that is is possible but some things need to be changed. So my question is what all is different and how can I modify it to work? My 2g turbo is squealing so I bought a 1g turbo off of a friend and have checked it over to make sure it is good to go. Has no shaft play and spins quite nicely so I think I'm gonna try it.

+2 on reading A LOT! It will help you a ton. I have been working on these cars for years and I still learn something new ever day.

You don't have to change the manifold to run a 16g :banghead: You have alot of reading to do before you should even touch your car.

^^ don't let it sound like we are ripping you a new one. we are just trying to save you from bigger problems and headaches :).
it a large learning curve and road to go down.
best advice i can give is read up go slow and most of all HAVE FUN :thumb:

Yes! I did not mean it to sound like I was ripping on you. If I was you I would read a lot on the turbo you want to run down the road and go from there. I understand your turbo is bad but if you haven't read much I would put another t25 on. Now that might not be the most popular thing said on this site cause the turbo is a crappy turbo but untill you read I would recommend staying completely stock untill you figured out the goals of your car and how and why to properly do it. Not trying to be a dick. I was very uninformed when I bought my gsx but now I'm on this site 24/7 and still learn plenty of new things everyday.

Well I have been building cars for a long time but this is my first turbo build. I will keep trying to learn as much as possible on the system but I do know I want to go with the 14b/6cm housing combo. need a fast spooling turbo and dont need a ton of top end. already learned a lot off of you guys but I do understand I have a long way to go before I can safely put the system together. Thanks again for all the help.

Picked up a new housing in perfect condition and a rebuild kit. Once everything gets here I will rebuild it then finally get the car back together and driveable. Definitely learned what not to buy on this one since I am now about $170 in on a turbo that I could have bought for $100. oh well you gotta learn somehow.

And finally to make this build even better... I snapped the turbine shaft while finishing up the rebuild. I f****d up and set it to 100 ft pounds not inch pounds :ohdamn: So now I have to pay for my mistake. :banghead:
