2g carrier bearings

Front and rear carrier bearings on a 2g... are they interchangeable (use front in the rear or use rear in the front)? The front is discontinued and the rear is still available. The front has 2 bolt holes for what looks like an exhaust shield that the rear doesn't have but looks like it can be trimmed off. Mainly is the inside diameter of where the shaft goes thru, is it the same???
Please, I'm not looking to "fill it with anything, only looking to replace!
