I was reading some threads and I just recently redone my drivetrain. Well I started thinking about the carrier bearings. When I ordered my parts I remember having to order 2 different carrier bearings one for the front and the other for the rear. I did not think much about it before but now I am trying to figure out what is the different between the two?
I know the one in front has some extra bolt holes. My old one had these as well but nothing was in them, so when re-installing them I did not put nothing into them.

Does anyone know what these bolt holes are for?
This should be the part number to the carrier bearing i'm jibber jabbing about.

They are for a heat shield if I'm not mistaken.
