So I just recently found out that im going to be coming into a decent amount of money in the near future. I should have about a 5k-8k budget. I want to do as many critical upgrades or refreshing of my gsx. I would like to rebuild the 7bolt block as Im not completly sure how many miles are truly on it and how much where the car has. Latly I haved had some problems with my car. Alot of you have probably read a few of my posts. But I dont really have a goal set. I would like to have a nasty little street car and with the occasionl track. Bases on my mod what do some of would suggest. Links to parts would be appreciated :hellyeah:

Edit: would like it to have more power then my current 333awhp

Gotta love tax time :thumbsup

Its not from taxes. its kind of an inheritance :thumb: still nice either way

Have you done a compression test on the motor? No point in rebuilding it if it's a good motor.

No I havent yet, but I would like it to be built enough to handle atleast 500whp. Not to sure how much my current setup will handle

That's the info that should be in the first post. Your turbo can handle 500awhp so your good there. Do you have e85 by you cause that will help alot in getting youth your goal

I can get ahold of E85 but I wouldnt be able to do it everytime I get gas. Its about 35 minutes away

You live in new york tons of tuner shops to get you going. Do what you wanna do with the car. Build it and put a big ass turbo on it.

I like my Hx35 but I would consider a new turbo. Something that's not to much to run. I dont really want to make mods to run something different. But like I stated I would like more power and more reliability

Nothing wrong with hx35 you can make good power with it. If you fine with what you got now and if you have dsm link ide get a dual setup for pump gas and e85 or race gas. That way you can run both max out your setup. That's all you can really do or build trans or backuo motor or buy another car to have.

What would I need to do to the trans? As it sits its a stage 3 shep 5 speed. My clutch is an act 2600 with a 6 puck street disk.
I have been thinking latly about running a bigger hotside for my Hx35 but not sure what I should get as its mainly a summer DD street car

Oh nvm then I guess you really don't need anything. Maybe get ps3 come play gt5 with us LOL. On a 7 bolt rebuild I would get a split thrust block wiseco hd 8:5 compession pistons and any rod of your choice all h beams are really all the same.

Just an FYI! FP is I the process of redesigning one of there hot sides to Bol up to te HX35. This hotside will be a bolt on .69 A/R housing. Didn't know I knew about this yet but I'm hiding off on the new housing for my set up

No offense intended but with a list of mods like that shouldnt you be getting more like 380hp to the ground?? Youve got quite a nice list of mods there my man. Comp test next for sure!

Honestly, If i were you I would just start a build on a motor while still driving your car around. Get a used shortblock, have it cleaned up, maybe do a 2.3l stroker build, either keep your turbo or go with a hta 86/ pte 6266, up the injectors to 1600's, add another fuel pump (or get a larger single fp) and call it a day. By the end of all of this I don't think you'll even meet your full budget.

More like 450hp, the HX35 in the .55 BEP housing is capable of over 50 lb/min. So yeah, 333hp is really low for that setup.

OP- I would stick with your current turbo setup. You have the potential to make much more power while keeping the spool street friendly. Switching to a larger housing or larger turbo will only increase lag time, your lack of power is caused by something other than the turbo.

For the engine rebuild, I'd say go with a built 2.3 or 4g64. If you plan to keep it pump gas capable and don't want to run water/meth injection, then keep the compression ratio around stock. But your HX35/.55 combo bolted to a stroker would be insane for a street car.

Have you even gotten your car to run right/well after the problems you had in the past? I remember helping you out a bunch with small things that were causing issues.

I agree with the others - stick with what you have and get it in top running shape. You've got a setup that's capable of getting close to your goal and will still prove to be a fun street car. No need to throw more money at the car just because you acquired more.

I just want my car running good and for the life of me i cant figure out the issues. Its at the point where things are so messed up I havent driven it but 1 mile since late august

If the car isn't running well, why do you think throwing money into a built engine will solve it? Sounds like you need to take some of that money and drop it off along with the car at STM. Get the car up and running right, get a good tune on it, and then reevaluate if you want to drop the money to build an engine. But no sense in replacing something that isn't broken just becauase.

Yea your right. I was planning on bringing it to stm to have them do a run through of the car but was thinking about throwning a few things at it while its there. Just want alittle more reliability then what I have experianced so far

DSM tuners, time to go to toon town! Good luck, I think once you have it professionally fixed up youll have a beast of a car!
