I have a 1995 Eclipse GSX with 5k miles that sat in a garage for 25 years. I started having brake lights staying on and eventually the cruise control not engaging. I found the blue grommets on the pedals had dry rotted and crumbled leaving just the mounting hole. After reviewing several posts here I remembered using some suction cups earlier in the day on a cabinet slider that came from Amazon. I knew that I had extras leftover so I grabbed them. To my surprise the stems mounted perfectly in the clutch and brake pedal grommet holes with enough tension to hold them in. The suction cups work as a guide and backing plated to align the nub on each switch. Working great so far.
Just my fix for grommets that seem to no longer be available. The suction cup is between 1/2”-3/4” across and has a 1/4” ribbed shank.
