5 speed life.

What would be interesting is see if there was another FWD /AWD transmission we could use and allows for more power.

hell the Supra 240 guys get the Nissan 350-370 trans to use and shit holds over 900hp. Be nice to have the same options available.

from the research I done before I put the auto in theres not any kind of cheap option for us for a reliable 5spd. for a broke racer like me the auto was the best option.

Never! Team gear bangers over here!
we gonna find out next year what you got at shootout ;)
Goonie and I were just talking about this yesterday. I dont care how many manual transmissions I break, I will never go auto. No offense but to me its boring, the fun of racing is banging gears!!
no offense taken LOL it was more to give goonie shit than anything. I thought mine was gonna be boring too when I swapped but its been a good time for me so far. im using a 3g tiptronic shifter so I do have to shift the car.

We finally got a break in the weather here in Ohio, its been in the negatives for weeks it seems! Yesterday it was in the upper 20's so it was time to warm the beast up! Still haven't had a chance to finish up the garage but got my cabinets hung and work bench in. Still have crap everywhere and its killing me! Started mounting my new garage lights too, 3 of the 9 are hung. Enjoy some music to your ears on a cold winter day.

**UPDATE 2/7/18*** kinda

Small update, not much has been going on because it looks like this out here in Ohio

All settled into our new house so I did manage to find some time to work on this thing. Started pulling everything off to get started pulling the trans to get the center diff welded. It is supposed to warm up this weekend so I am hoping to have the trans pulled out by Sunday.

Couple of weeks ago it was up to 60 degrees so before I tore it down I had a mandatory around the block run and fuel up.

aaaaand I have finally bought some injectors, FIC 1650's from Andrew Robinson(95eclipser) so that means its time to really turn this thing up. I still can't believe I made almost 700 hp on pump gas with some 950cc injectors HAHA. With more power comes more trap speed and more trap speed means I need to slow down, so I have this on order, be here tomorrow! I don't know when I will ever use it but its nice to have just incase. The goal this year is 150+ traps and 9.9999999. THEN switch over to slicks and racegas and see how deep it'll go.

Started taking the rear bumper off last night and I am in a world of drilling out broken bolts. I know I have never had this bumper off in the 10 years I have owned this car and these bolts aren't liking being removed. Will post more updates soon!

Good update homie.

I hope those injectors treat you well. Glad i could help this project go to the next level. You make me want to keep my DSM :)

Plus looking at what strictly just did with their FF GSX, and that gorgeous Vmount setup. Man does it give me ideas LOL.

I’m going with the S&W Racecars pre bent 8 point and I’m having them bend me up a set of rear pro street bars as oppose to the strut tower rear mount bars it normally comes with.
hmmmmm.. im curious as to how they fit with interior. im just scared of the pre bent stuff after my last dealing LOL.

A lot of people chiming in from Ohio on this thread. I like it LOL. Glad to see there are still some Dsm'ers around close by. Awesome work with the build so far. It seems to be coming along great.

I have to ask, is your friend still making intake manifolds? I wouldn't mind giving him some business if he is. I am still running the stock 2g one and I feel like its holding me back.

Look up KSR performance on facebook, my other good buddy who is now making intake manifolds. I am going to be switching to one of his drag versions maybe this year but probably next. Also thanks man, us Ohioans gotta stick together haha!

The S&W Racecars roll bar that @goonie90gsx is getting is the same one I have. The main hoop fits absolutely perfect in mine so lets hope it does in his because were installing it at my house haha. If it doesn't there is plenty of beer in the fridge to make something work!

I emailed them last night and they let me know that when theyre engineered by them it with full interors in the cars. im seriously contemplating saving myself almost $700 and just doing a chromoly 8pt for now and adding a halo and a pillar bars later on. I seen the pics of yours and it does look like it fits in there well. id be doing like goonie and getting the seat saver bars as well.
