WELP WE DID IT! Maybe a year late but the old 2g made it to the shootout and made a freakin pass! sorta..

Going back about a couple months ago -

I finally finished the 4 million engine bay tabs, bars, tubes, mounts and Brandon laid some dang good lookin paint down. At this point the car was still nothing but a shell, no drivetrain, no subframes no nothing.

Mounting side skirts and the rest of the carbon parts is always a task but dang did it turn out nice! Thankfully Chance came out from Indy for a couple weekends to help Ryan and I thrash on this thing. During this weekend Ryan, Chance, Brandon and I turned this car from a shell into a roller with all the steering done, subframes and everything yet the car is still so far from being done.

As soon as we got the motor in the car went immediately to BS Fab for some of his amazing artwork. Branden never seizes to amaze me with his work. His turnaround time was CRAZY, about a week and a half later the car was back to my shop which was now about August 15 or so...less than 3 weeks left and this car has never even started. That Apex 7685 looks crazy!

Once we got the car back there is still no windows the roof wasn't glued on, still had mock up trans in it and a lot lot more that needed finished. So we put in the hours plenty of 9am starts working until 3am but gosh dang we did it. Ryan took the car home after another long weekend at my house and "Finished" it enough to get the car to Early Performance so they could wire the Fueltech FT600 and tune the car! Jared and Kevin freakin crushed it. They helped get the windows cut and glued in and the roof glued on along with a bunch of other things. The car started for the first time EVER on September 1st, 3 days before the shootout LOL! Everything went smooth on the dyno it made INSANE power for how low of boost it was on.

THE SHOOOOOTOUT!

After continuing to work on the car late Thursday night at Buschurs and throughout the weekend it was finally done enough to at least make a 2-3 gear rip down the track. Ryan piloted this thing on wastegate(20psi) rolling off the line and getting in it through 2 and 3 and coasted to a high 10 at 144. After all the hard work and long hours that was put into the car and seeing it go down the track...and go down straight! Man it just felt great. The fact that I only bought this shell because it came with 2 transmissions that I needed for $600 and for it to turn into such a beautiful car. Though I do not own this anymore I will forever be workin on this damn thing haha!

-P.S. its a long story as to why there's no hood on the car just know that the new hood showed up to replace the other broken hood(use your imagination) just before the shootout and we didn't have enough time to get the hood latches cut into it LOL
