Hello I'm new to the forum.

I purchased my 2g GSX about a month ago and I was very pleased with the power. Coming from a tire frying SRT4 the AWD felt great. About a week later the tranny goes out. So I currently have the transmission pulled out and am getting a shep stage 3 rebuild which sounds like it will easily support the hp numbers I plan to make.

Here are where my questions start. It currently has an ACT 2100 with street disc put in by previous owner with under 10k miles on it. I've felt it slip with added weight in the car which worries me. Current mods are 4g64 crank, Eagle rods, Wiesco pistons, 1mm oversized valves, Crower 272s and a td05 20g. I plan on upgrading to a PTE 6152 (which was supposed to go on the SRT4) very soon after I put the tranny back in.

Should I trying putting a 6 pad ACT disc in that has a high torque rating or just buy a whole new clutch kit? Trying to keep it on a budget but not but not have any problems.

The ACT 2100 won't hold the power your plan to put to it. You need at least a 2600 with any style disc to hold the power. My 2100 slipped with a brand new Fidanza 6 puck with my stroker at maybe 450-500hp. The Act 2900 held the power with the same disc no issues.

I emailed Maperformance questioning what clutch to run, and they told me to continue to rock an ACT 2600lb pressure plate and a 6 puck sprung disk I currently have on my 600whp GSX. I thought I'd need a twin disk setup, but i guess this is suppose to hold, pretty cheep too.

The 2100 wont hold for a stroker with a large PTE. 2600, 2900 pp with a 6 puck disk should do. Or spend the big bucks and get a quartermaster twin disk

If you can handle an unsprung hub that would be the ticket. There is no springs to fail.

I Have several launches on the 6 puck unsprung hub and i have to say i really like it. As long as you dont mind a little gear chatter every here and there. I highly recommend the evo3 first gear too. Launches feel great! Just figured id give an update :D
