2g 7 bolt block .20 over with 1g forged pistons

Ok Im in the process of rebuilding this 95 TSI AWD and I am sceptical about this. The block has been sent to a machine shop and they blue printed the block and bored it .20 over. We ordered the pistons for it and when they arrived they ended up being for the 6-bolt. I was wondering if this is really gonna make a differance or not. I have heard different opinions on it, but I want to know what you all think. Thanks.

If you're skeptical just return them and get the right ones, get 7 bolt pistons to fit on 7 bolt rods. The only thing I can think of is those pistons don't go on 2g rods.

I agree. The pistons will have to be enlarged to 22 mm to get them fitting on 2G rods, and you'd have to find a new set of wrist pins as well. Not worth all the extra work when you can just send it back and get the right pistons.

Ok thanks. The guy that got them for me got them for free, so I guess I will just post them up for sale pretty soon.
