i was wondering if a 1G 4G63 turbo engine would fit into the engine bay for my 95 eclipse GS. i would actualy like to get a 4G63 turbo engine from a 2G but all the shops keep telling me that they only have JDM 1G turbo engines. so i was just wondering if a 1G turbo Engine would fit and work in my 2G chasis. thanks. :thumb: :dsm:

Im new hear as well but I think the answer is no b/c all of the piping or w/e can't remember is 180 degree's in the wrong direction it would just cost tooo much money to convert it.

there are a million threads about this so let me say search so people here don't go bashing all day about it.

this falls under the anything is possible with enough money, but for that money, you could do much better things. it isn't really feasable.

as an example,
I managed to sell my 1996 talon esi (rs) and buy a 1998 tsiawd (gsx) with less mileage for less than a turbo kit (net cost of buying the car while selling the old car to get money back).

well i looked threw the posts and couldnt come across any threds that talked about this. im not shure what your trying to say. i am not planing out buying a turbo kit or anything. i have a non turbo 420A engine in my car now with 120,000 miles and i want to replace it with a lower mileage engine. so i figured that wile i am changing the engine out i might as well change it for a Turbo engine. but the only turbo engines that i can find are the JDM turbo engines for the 1G version. so i just want to know if it would fit right into my car or would it need to be custom to fit it in. because if it is going to be a pain in the ass then i will just go get a lower mileage 420a or 4g63 non turbo engine for my car. but i dont know what to do.

okay....neither 4g63 will fit easily at all. The engines are reversed. It would take a lot of custom fabrication to get it to work at all, and it would probably be a huge nightmare. that being said let me clear something up.

the 4g63 turbo from a 1g will not fit but neither will the non turbo from a 1g. also, the 4g63 from a 2g if you could get one.....also, wont fit. if you want to throw in a lower mileage engine, your only real choice to drop it in is another 420a. (something else may work that i don't know about but a 4g63 variant is not one of them)..

any reason you don't want to go the rebuild route?

well i would rebuild but this is my only form of transpertation so i dont wnat my car to be down for too long. so i figured i would put the 4G63 engine in but i guess i cant. so i am just going to have to put in another 420A engine ant buy the hahn turbo kit for it.
