If I remember right, Wilwood calipers don't have dust boots, which means you'll have to rebuild them every few months due to debris getting in the caliper, brake fluid getting dirty, etc.

All you have to do is clean them once in a while and change the fluid. It's not that big of a deal. If the car sees any track time at all, dust boots are actally not good to have (can melt).

only the vr-4 calipers say mitsu on them, stealth calipers do not have the lettering.

If you're going to get 2g vr4 calipers, get the 2g vr4 rotors. they're less than $85 on ebay for a pair of cross drilled and slotted rotors.

I'm trying to get myself clear........will this 2g vr4 caliper, brake pads and rotors work on my 95 talon tsi awd?? or where can i buy the bracket to make it fit in my car? I need new brakes very soon.......

my friend has a 95 3000gt vr-4 and hes doing a brake upgrade and he said i can have his old brake set up( calipers, rotors, new ebc pads) exactly what else do i need besides 17 inch wheels? will the 2g 17's clear the calipers?

well there is a guy on here. he posted in this thread. he made many brakets trying to get pad contact at is max. a lot of factors are involved. but im sure someone can do it. just make sure the material is strong even under heat and that everything is safe before you go on a public road.

No one has any idea besides rob how to fab these brackets, these calipers look f*ckin awsome

I want to keep my OEM wheels... with that being said... will this upgrade work for me? Or is my best bet 3000GT SL Calipers? What size rotors can I get?

you can't use vr4 calipers with your oem wheels. even 3000gt sl's have a wider wheels than 1g oem wheels, and vr4 calipers don't fit them. i have a set of sl wheels in my garage.

But aren't SL calipers the same as 92-94 AWD calipers? With that being said they should fit under OEM wheels... right?

What size Calipers can I get that will still clear the wheels?

I just want to clear some things up here.

First of all, I am busy with lots of projects right now, making these caliper brackets for anyone is out of the question right now. All I have to say is the calipers WONT work with out spacers. The size of the spacers will depend on the offset of the wheel, how much you are willing to shave off of the caliper and how much the car is lowered. The bracket has to offset the caliper aprox 30 degrees around the center of the wheel and about .07" towards the outside of the car. Thats all the info Im willing to give up, figure the rest out, its easy.

Second of all, This mod is not for everyone, esspecially guys who like to slam their cars. Needing to use spacers makes it nessasary to have a decent amount of wheel well clearance still. I have a 1.25 drop and I can just get by with the H&R 1" spacers. (which by the way arent cheap making the mod costly after caliper, rotor, and bracket) I SCORED bigtime on the price of the calipers, rotors and I made my own brackets. I paid an awesome price for two of the four spacers I have from another member here, the other two spacers for the rear (just to match them up) I paid full price from www.stangsuspension.com

Third, you will most likely have a little bit of a mushy pedal, I got around this by upgrading all the brake lines to braided SS, and making a little support for the M/C, its not perfect, but its better.

Once again, dont PM me asking to make these for you, or asking info, you dont understand, I get lots, and its annoying.

Thanx

Adding up the costs of spacers, brackets, rotors, pads, lines ...

It's better to do a 3000GT SL brake swap for the front and do rotors, pads, DOT 5 fluid, bleeders and lines all around and perhaps a brake MC brace than just spend the $$$ for the front end of your car. I got a pair of twin-piston calipers off a 1996 Diamante LS for less than $100 at the boneyard. These four-piston calipers will be more than what most people need. Sometimes you have to think realistically.

I was a little enthused by the proposition of putting those big, red Sumitomo calipers with the Mitsubishi logo on my car ... But it's honestly more than I need for Autocross. I'm spending my money elsewhere. Provided, they do look good, and I'm sure they perform quite nicely, but like I said ... There's better things to spend your money on.

Will I be able to fit the SL or Stealth NT Calipers and Rotors under my OEM Wheels?

I am guessing they should fit as the SL shares the same brakes as 92+ AWD... hence my OEM wheels should work.

Otherwise maybe get spacers?
