272 cams what idle rpm??

so i have the new motor running today its got 272 cams no adjustable cam gears running at about 15 degres for timing whats a good rpm that i should idle at??

i have a few small boost leaks and such to fix up tomorrow but just curious

750rpms if it idles good. If you have to slowly go up to 1000rpms till you get a good idle that you feel good about. If its BC 272s it will idle no problem. Its the more aggressive 272's, like kelfords, that can give you issues at idle.

I've got 272 bc cams an I idle at 750 but I wanna have a steady idle at 900 rpms. How do I bring the idle up to 900rpms stable?

I run my 272's at 900RPM, 750 is just to low for drive-ability reasons.

You have to either set the idle higher in link, or alter the eprom chip coding. Just turning out the biss until the car idles at 900 rpms will leave the isc with no ability to lower rpms.
