hey what is the difference between the two performance wise. I could get the forced performance 264's for 390 shipped. i have all the way through stage 2 done except for the FMIC. What kind of performance gains can you expect from the 264's as compared to the 272's.

Also what kind of idle do the 264's give you compared to 272's.

yo citrano man, hold off on that , were going to get a group buy going on fp cams, shit if you can get em for 390 hold on for the rest of us understand!

I ended up getting them for 390 through the classifieds it just so happened that they were new in the box and never even taken out of the plastic! i still want to know what there gonna sound like idling

im running 272's and they idle like its swapping cylinders ( think bigblock ) but with a pissed off chainsaw sound....if you adjust your idel to aroun 900 rpms they smoothe out and have a very healthy powerfull sound

ok cool, but will i be ok with 264's for both intake and exhaust? i have an evo III 16g running 20psi

I'm running 264's and they are great. Slight change in the idle but the top end pull more than makes up for it. :dsm:

The HK$ 264/272 idle quality is uuhhh, lets just say not LITTLE GIRL friendly, especially if you have motor mounts and no balance shafts :D It kinda sounds like a cross between a miss to the untrained ear and a a 6 beats per second drum roll. It really depends on your exhaust setup also. If you take the cutout off, its almost like a Harley.

264/264 combo is fine for that setup. I can't find the info right now, I seem to remember that the 264/272 combo didn't show any real improvement over 264/264 on the dyno with the tested cars anyways. 272/272 DID, but only bigger turbos really took advantage.

I really don't know why anyone would bother with 264's in the first place, the gains are marginal when compared to the 272's and they cost just as much. They are perfectly fine for a street car IMO. I also do not see why one would mix two cams that were not designed to be run together. But to each their own.

I could be 100% wrong but i read that mixing the cams 264/272 creates more bottom end torque. I think there are some threads somewhere on here about them.

I hope we can find it because I thought it was the opposite... I thought the 264/272 combo lost a little at the bottom and gained just a tiny bit at the top... :) I guess we should stop guessing now. :)

you guys have to remember that i'm automatic...my cams are the worst possible!! so i think any of these would be an upgrade...what about the 264/264 combo?

:thumb: You're 100% right the f*ck on!! :thumb: I just finished reading the thread with hk$ cam dyno's vs stock,vs web and all that stuff. The test was done with a 16g turbo @25psi. Hks 272/272 made 10lb/ft LESS torque than the 264/272 combo while making only 1(one) more HP. Do the math u hks 264 intake cam haters!!
