255 and no fpr

Hey guys,

I have been having trouble tuning my 99 gsx, I just put in a 255 and 660cc injectors, along with my s16g. I am using ecuflash and evoscan for tuning.

Without having an fpr will this give me tuning trouble at idle? I wanted to get my idle good before I took it out on the road for WOT tuning.

I have an evo 8 pump sitting in my garage and might put that in if it doesn't cause any problems with the stock fpr.

When you put an upgraded fuel pump in, you need to put in a AFPR or you run the run of over running your stock one. You should invest in a AFPR.

I think it makes you go lean at idle. As I have a 255 and 1000cc injectors but am waiting for my afpr to install them.

Well, I was wondering if the evo8 will run fine without an fpr, since it is near a 190lph and people say you don't need an fpr with a 190.

Correct, a evo8 flows about the same and you would not need a AFPR. I would suggest getting an AFPR and selling the evo8.

I would suggest not cheeping out on fuel upgrades. You will run the risk of blowing your motor. If I were you, I wouldn't touch a thing until you have all the parts. I had to get my 560's from a buddy, then wait till I had the cash for a afpr and fuel pump. Get a fuelab 515 kit from extremepsi.com they're cheap.

Well, I have an afpr but I do not have the an fitting to attach it to the fuel rail. I just wanted to get the car running right now so I didn't have to wait 4-5 days for that fitting.

So I will toss the evo8 pump in for now until I get the fitting shipped.
