I have a 255 and i dont have a afpr. It seeems to run fine. What kind of symptoms would it have if it wasnt running good? I plan on getting one soon, but I want to get other parts first.

I ran mine like that for 5 years and never had an issue with fuel.

You wont notice anything really till you get a REAL tuning device like AEMS, DSMlink ect.. Your trims will be off (short-term, 50hz 150 and 250hz ect and its a pita to tune with no afpr). WOT your fine because the injectors are using the Fuel to the fullest.

Yeah, with an SAFC tuned it runs like crap on idle. Everything else is fine. But I can't imagine the damage I'm doing to the cylinders. Ordering a Aeromotive today.

I would order dsmlink and ditch that SAFC before a AFPR a you can tune great with a SAFC but you could still get knock and not even notice it. Might wanna rethink what your doing.

I read the OP's post and checked his profile, it says he has Dsmlink so I am assuming that this was directed at me? Anyways I have a logger and my keydiver chip is set up so that the factory boost guage shows knock. I still have the safcII for fine tuning and the MAFT because I am above the flow of the 2g mass (with the way things are set up). I currently have a afpr on my car I just didnt for 5 years (I had a 255, 880 inj with no afpr).

**EDIT: nevermind I realize that you were talking to evil**

I've run a 255 from day one (well, since maybe week 3 of owning the car), and even on an S-AFC,16g and 550 injectors. I never had a noitcable problem until i put the first AFPR i had on and the tune went nuts (showing that i must have been pushing a hell of a lot of fuel pressure and just tuning around it) And that was after i got a stand alone in the car that i put the AFPR on, so i could tell every little thing that was off.

I then sold that regulator and rail when i needed rebuild money and went back to a stock FPR and just tuned around it for another 4-5 years, now i have an AFPR back on and it was just the same as the first time. I changed the tune to deal with the lower pressures and that was it.

Now, how hard that was on that 255 for 8 years, i don't know, but that 255 is still in action to this day and perfoms great.

So take it for what it's worth.. You will be over running the stock FPR, but it's nothing you can't tune around, even with a SAFC

Hrm I think I was miss understood. The comment "But I can't imagine the damage I'm doing to the cylinders. Ordering a Aeromotive today." I would rather run DSMlink and no FPR than SAFC + afpr. The "I can't imagine the damage I'm doing to the cylinders." You would do more damage with a SAFC than you would DSMink yes you can tune with a SAFC and a pocket logger but hell you could have knock and not even know it so many other problems you are putting your engine in harms way. At lease with DSMlink,AEMS ect you have the control and KNOW whats going on with your DSM.

Drop the 255lph install a 190 call it a day. Order ECMLink asap Sell that pos SAFC on ebay!

Except that tuning around it with something like a SAFC would play right into the weak point of the SAFC. You'd have to pull even more airflow, which would put you into even more aggressive timing maps.
