I have a 97 Spyder GST with stock internals. I have the usual intake/exhaust mods. (FIPK, Greddy UIP, 3" turbo back exhaust) I run an XS Engineering "16G Killer" turbo set up. With this I run it at 1 bar set with my Joe P MBC. For fuel, the previous owner of the car decided to upgrade to a Walbro 255lph fuel pump. For some reason, he did not upgrade the FPR to an AFPR. I know I am running rich, as the pump should be outrunning the OEM FPR. I don't have the cash to immediately upgrade to an AFPR right now.
Can I still tune effectively using my Greddy Peak/Hold EGT guage with TRE EGT probe, Gadgetseller digital o2 gauge, SAFC II, and pocketlogger? If so, how would you recommend I do so? I don't have a wideband 02 setup, but could go to my local shop to tune on their dyno with wideband. First, I have to fix my oil leak though.
Can I keep adjusting the boost up until Exhaust Temps are hitting 850-875 deg. C and peaking for a short period at 900 deg. C? Is this setup too unpredictable to try to tune that close to the edge?
Thanks for your help.
