I have a 1992.5 talon 6 bolt awd 5 speed with a evo III big 16g 272 cams 20lbs of boost i'm running high 11's going for low 11's maybe even high steady 10's. but the car still has to be daily driveable.

I don't need anyone telling me not to drive the car on the street or any of that crap please.

I was driving on a 2100 clutch and i'm swapping the motor so good time while i'm in there to swap to a bigger better clutch.

I never really slipped all that much on my 2100 but for my goal is it a good idea to go with a 2600 or 2900?

how bad is the 2600 daily driving?

opinions?

Thanks:thumb:

The 2600 is a lot stiffer in pedal feel than the 2100 but is still bearable. It's like a work out for your left leg especially in traffic. For your set up, the 2600 is good enough.

I learned to drive on an ACT 2600 so anything LESS stiff feels just wrong. I find it's very comfortable to drive on, picks up quickly from the floor, and grabs hard. All in all, it's a nice one and I've used many different brands ranging from eBay specials to Clutch Masters.

i daily drive my car on a 2900 i find it very streetable, gets a lil harsh in trafic other than that is a great cluch and can be used for a very fast setup with no worries

Go with a Competition Cluch stage 3 or 4.
I have the Stage 4 with the 6 puck sprung disk and drive it daily. Grabs like a bat out of hell, you may have to get used to it a bit, but once you are used to it, you will like it a lot better. Plus you save a little money over the ACT. Im totally not a fan of ACT clutches.

thanks for the help and opinions so far keep them coming!

ps the 2600 pressure plate i'm getting is for free thats why i'm mainly asking about it.

check my profile for my current set up.

again i'm going for solid 10's.

streetable with in reason.

Do Not Use A Puck Cluch. The 2600 Is Great And Work's Good For Me useing a street disc

its stiff for about a week and then you get used to it but when you drive a stock car after that youll think the cluch dont work

if your looking for solid 10s dont bother with the 2600. Go multi disk or puck.

The main reason for using the "Street disk" is because it slips a litte during those harsh launches making for less wheel spin, better 60' times and its a little eiser on those hard parts IE trannies, diffs and axles.

I used to run a puck style clutch in a other car and will NEVER go back to it, its way to harsh and grabby for street use.

I currently use a 2600# with street disk, works great!!!!

your both in the right

myturbo is looking at the streetable part of it

tpunx99gsx is looking at the track 10sec part of it.

both right, both good!

great point!

good advice thanks tons!

anyone else?

I would only run a puck style clutch if I had smaller wheel's with drag radials and a few spare diff's laying around, and this would be more a drag setup than a street setup.

I just replaced the clutch in mine the other day it had a stage 4 in it with a street disk, it worked ok but the pressure plate was warped pretty bad so I would not recomend the Competition Cluch stage 4 it only had 2k miles on it :(

I'll post again after this weekend when I go to the track and ill tell you if my 60' improved with the ACT! maybe Ill turn it up some more try to get some DEEP 11's

Anyone who complains about the 2600 having heavy pedal pressure is a nancy :tease: Drive an old muscle car with a mechanical clutch & a heavy duty pressure plate, maybe then you complain about it being abit heavy for daily driving/stop & go traffic ;) Everyone just gets use to the, no pedal pressure, that these cars are stock :p
