I've decided it was time to turn the boost up to about 20psi on my T28:hellyeah:, and I need to know if i'm forgetting anything that I will need in this list:

255lph walbro kit
550cc injectors
fuel pressure regulator
AFC
manual boost controller

Also installing:

Hard upper IC piping w/ HKS BOV flange
HKS BOV
Boost & Wideband gauges
possibly a Greddy turbo timer

:dsm:

You are also going to need a way to log.

and more importantly, a way to tune the bigger injectors, you can drop in whatever size injectors you want but without a way to tune them your ecu will think they are stock (450cc) and you will end up with your car running like crap

edit: just saw the afc in the list so nevermind LOL

It says in the original post that he is going to use an AFC to tune.

You should get bigger injectors than 550's that way you have room to grow. Plus your injector duty will probably be pretty high at 20 psi on the t28. I know I had 550's on a small 16g and it was pretty high for me at 22 lbs.

Youll be running those 550's pretty hard. I would recommend larger.

And you cant go wrong with a turbo timer.

I didnt even see what he was using for a tuning device..Stupid me.

Why not spend twice the money for 80 million times more worth and get DSMlink? Slowboy has a special going right now and they are SOOO extremely cheap.

Ya v3 lite would be a good idea. Then if you want to upgrade in the future all you have to pay is the difference in the prices to upgrade.

Can you PM me as to what quote they have you on the "special" for Link Lite? I would PM SBR but they take so long to reply. Thanks

What about an exhaust setup? It'll help that turbo breathe much better and help keep EGT's down.

run evo 560s. there cheaper and BIGGER :)
and honestly you realy dont need a FPR. i ran 24psi on my old 2g gsx on the t25 with about the same set up. you biggest issue is going to be a FMIC. the stock side mount wont cut it at all. you can go to a supra side mount though. i ran 26psi on my 14b with a supra side mount 255 FP safc 560 injectors and some others on a 92 i had. hope this hepls.

oh and yes you WILL need exhaust before you really do anything

I have a FMIC installed

I'm currently running a 3" turbo back exhaust setup now.

I'm on a $500 budget, thats why i haven't bought link, maybe i will someday though. Too bad they don't still sell ecu plus :(

oh, and the fact that my ecu isn't chipped. That would be even more money for link since i still need the chip

umm, i'm no expert, but can you even run 24psi on a t25? it seems like you'd just be blowing hot air at that point.

oh wow, i just found some delphi 650cc injectors on AFI. have any of you guys have a problem with them?

If you don't want to go with ECMLink, look into keydiver's stage 3 chip at dsmchips.com

VERY good (in my opinion) alternate tuning solution, especially if you don't want to tune yourself.
It'll self adjust to keep the air fuel ratio you want, you can have your chip custom made for you car.
You can also run an AFC alongside it if you want to fine-tune it more.

My talon ran a keydiver stage 3 chip for a 2g MAF , 650cc injectors, walbro 255 fuel pump, 91 octane, etc at 15psi on a 20g and the car ran absolutely great. I wish I would of seen what it could do beyond that because I switched to DSMLink and tuning myself it ran good but it never drove as nice/clean as it did on the keydiver chip.

Now granted with a REAL tune on DSMLink it'll probably surpass the keydiver chip without an issue.
However it's a cheap alternative and in the process you'll get your ECU socketed so thats one hassle out of the way if you ever go with DSMLink.

you dont absolutely need a FPR but your chances of over running your stock FRP are extremely high...better safe than sorry and without one you most likely will end up sorry...and 24 psi on T25?? maybe for a quick spike before it drops off rapidly as it can barely hold 17-18 psi steady for longer than 5 seconds, even if you were actually getting steady 24 psi it would have all been hot air wich would have been useless anyways...

I can get ecmlink after i install a few mods, there is really no use in wasting $425 if you have no room to increase performance

ECMLink allows you to tune areas that many piggyback methods do not....like the timing curve.

With that in mind, you can literally install ECMLink and a Wideband on a bone-stock car, tune it better than it was from the factory, and most likely add more power than adding the simple bolt-on mods that are similarly-priced without a tune.

I get what you are saying, you are right. i just wanted to get this out of the way so when i get link or whatever i decide on, i can tune a lot further than with stock parts.

An SAFC is not intended to primarily tune a car. It's there to QUICKLY make fine adjustments. Just because you can run 1.5x bigger injectors doesn't mean it's good. You are throwing away timing control using an SAFC to make huge adjustments. Fine timing tuning matters to power more than fuel.

It's there to do exactly what i want it to do, deliver more fuel. this isn't some 700hp car that i'm trying to make. I just want a little more power than stock, is all. I dont think i need dsm link immediately, i can buy it later when i have more money

Plus I can't just buy dsm link, i dont even know how to use it. I'm still learning about these things so i figured i'd do bolt-ons first while i learned more about them.
