I scared myself tonight. Since it was cooler out, I went to the highway for some WOT pulls for fun, and my first pull the boost gauge hit 20psi before falling to 17! It has never gone above 15 before. I'm stock other than hard IC pipes and an intake and exhaust.
I'm pretty sure this is an extremely bad amount of boost to run on stock fuel. How could it be going so much higher than it ever had before? Is it possible that my boost gauge has somehow become inaccurate? I think I'm going to hold off going WOT again until I upgrade my fuel, but I want to know how it could go up so high. If my BCS is removed, is there anything really stopping me from running too much boost?
I just got a 3" turboback put on, could that have been the culprit?

if you haven't up graded your bov, your leaking boost at around 12 psi. i don't see how you could have gotten that high with just an uicp exhaust and the bcs removed which is only good for an extra 1-3 psi. anyway it isn't good to have that much boost regardless on a t25, even with fuel mods. anything after 15-16 psi is just super hot air that isn't helping you or your car.

Sorry, forgot to add I have a 1G BOV unmodded. I know its not helping, I'm afraid its going to do damage or overboost the turbo.

Thats normal with those mods to see the boost spike up like that.

Hell it does it with the BCS free mod in place, I have seen it also happen with just have is a filter and bov--in cold weather depending on gear and rpm, it will also spike to 20 before settling down.

A car that I setup has same mods as you, put in an MBC and it holds steady to where we set it at (15lbs).

Meh, I'm pretty sure there's nothing to worry about. Just check for shaft play and if your car is acting normal I'm sure you're alright. It's not a huge problem, don't sweat it. (I'm speaking in terms of engine damage)
Your turbo on the other hand shouldn't have liked that that much. Again, just check for shaft play.

The turbo feels okay. I was waiting to install my MBC until I put my new turbo in, but I guess I can just lay off the boost until then and put them in together.

Thanks for the info, everything seems to be fine so I'm confident.

it takes, what? 15 minutes to put on an MBC....? I'd go ahead and put it on and set your boost where you want it...it'll do it's job and then you dont have to worry about spikes like that.

i had the same exact problem some time last week except i some how disconnected that hose from the wastegate to the BCS....after i fixed it, i did the BCS upgrade...and after that my clutch started slipping...that could be from too much power going to the clutch ? correct ?
