ok i just bought my car not to long ago (2weeks) and did some maintenence and stuff but now on test runs i hit 20 psi in 3rd around 5500k mods are

stock fuel system that i know of
2.5 down pipe no muffler
evo fmic
"ported head"

and has cracked manifold.
i had boost guage tapped into P valve on throttle body ( was just capped off before;so i ran a hose straight to guage)
now its tapped into the bov hose and i get the same readings.

new to dsm but deffinately doesnt feel like 20psi from what i hear(especially coming from hondas)

please help. dont want to hurt anything

All cars are different of course. I'd say get a logger stat. You can read knock and IDC and timing so you can know for sure if you're hurting your car. 20psi is definitely too high for bone stock though at least from everything I've seen. Drop her down to the 15 range and get a logger.

No boost controller its stock with boost guage thats why im freaking out!!!
It should be 10-11 psi.

Is my boost guage not hooked up right cause it doesnt feel like 20psi..(wouldnt that be like 300whp!!)

And BTW how the heck could my car push 20psi on stock fuel

No it would be you making a *I blew my motor apart* thread or your turbo blowing hot air due to it being inefficient at 20 PSI and you saying your car lacks performance

It should be hooked up to the p port like you had it or off the fpr line, restore your BOV line with a dedicated line. Which boost gauge and what does it read at idle? What does it read with the car off?

Anyone can run 20psi, will your fuel system and motor sustain it is the question.

1. Test run bypassing the stock BCS by connecting the turbo outlet pipe fitting directly to the wastegate actuator.

2. Are you hitting 20psi immediately or are you hitting a lower boost level first then slowly creep up to 20psi as rpm increases?

I had it at the p port but all the 4 or 5 vaccum hoses that are supposed to go the are all capped off so i thought that would be a prob
BOV LINE
idle-16vac
car off-0
and slowly rises to 20 doesnt spike

P LINE
idle-0
car off-0
slowy rises the same

Dont get what your saying(1. Test run bypassing the stock BCS by connecting the turbo outlet pipe fitting directly to the wastegate actuator.)

wouldnt i hit fuel cut

Like I already said, get off the BOV line, follow this link for hooking up your boost gauge correctly.

You didn't tap the "p" port, "p" is suppose to go behind the throttle plate which will read boost and vacuum, you must have tapped the ones that goes in front of the throttle plate which only read boost.

You have boost creep.

No, running your pressure source (turbo outlet fitting) directly to the wastegate will result in running stock wastegate spring pressure of 11-12psi, if test results is in fact 11-12psi, your stock BCS (Boost Controller Solenoid) is defective. If in fact you have boost creep, the test result will be the same as before, hitting lower boost then slowly creeps up to 20psi as RPM increases.

thanks a lot for your time. i really appreciate it..

can i just get an aftermarket boost controller and forget about the stock bcs

Yes but problem will still be there if you don't figure it out first, regardless whether you're using the BCS or a MBC. BTW Please use punctuation and capitalization so your thread won't get closed.

So if i do indeed have boost creep do i need to replace the stock BCS , if so is it expensive, or hard.
Setting an aftermarket BC at 15psi; would i still get boost creep?

Boost creep has nothing to do with your controllers, it's a turbine housing and exhaust issue. Did you read the link I posted?

Sorry i read it througholy this time. I just find it hard to comprehend that by smoothing it out it can controll my boost down to 10 psi.Thats crazy but hey ill give it a shot.
What all needs to be ported?
Turbo inlet
Turbo outlet
02 housing
Manifold

LOL I didn't just pull that one out of my ass. :) Do a search on "boost creep" and you will see how common it is as well as the solution.

Why don't you run that test first and verified that you have boost creep before talking about porting.

Be careful, 1G's and 2G's are different, the 1G BCS is actually mounted to the top of the air can.

Oh, my bad. Wasn't even paying attention, just remembered reading something about the BCS. I imagine it looks similar though, so it could be used for reference.

Damn beavis, I'm trying to get him to do some work and get to know his own car on his own instead of spoon feeding him. :D
