im thinking about buying a 20g turbo. i saw on fp.com an mhi 20g for like 539$. it said its t3 flanged. i have a t3 turbo manifold but it has a flange for a 40mm hks wg that recirculates into a 3 in o2 housing. could i use all of this with the 20g and run it external wg?

yeah the hks wg comes off the exaust mainfold. so i would just remove the internal wg off the 20g and weld it shut? would a 40mm wg be a good size? is the 20g the only t3 mhi turbo?

If you want to run a 20g external wastegate style you need to find a turbine housing without an internal wastegate on it. Buy it then swap the two. Then you could use your manifold and your hks wg. But, I do not know if they make these or not. I imagine some one does make them but i dont know dont quote me on that. Or i guess you could weld the internal wg shut and toss your wg acuator then its just the same.

hahaahaha WTF!?!? i guess i type to slow or something

so what do i need to do to install a 20g turbo to a 2g gsx with a 90 6 bolt. using the t3 manifold with external wg

i have the hrc super 20g. Ran it internally but really didnt like it. So i took the internal wg off and welded the flapper shut. You have all you need just a t3 manifold, external wg and o2 housing everything else you can use what already on the motor

sorry to kind of jack the thread but im getting ready to install a 20g i picked up how do you tell the difference between a tdo5 and a tdo6? just curious

You mean the oil filter housing?

MHI turbos like lower oil pressure, so oiling from the OFH can sometimes blow the seals early in the turbos life.

Sometimes a ss braided line from the head is to much oil pressure. The 1g oil feed has a built in restricter thats perfect for our turbos

Here we go again....... According to your profile you have an almost completly stock motor. You have no business strapping a 20g on your car with NO supporting mods at all.
