I have an ar.70 it is a turbonetics garrett honeywell :dsm: turbo the guy said it was a 20g but my local shop said its alot bigger then a 20g well any way its going on a 420a non-turbo motor ..not on yet... but is it to big 4 my motor at 5lbs. of boost and will my motor b able to spool it enough to make boost?
Thnx 4 any help
Terry

.70ar OMG

is it a T4 exhaust or compressor
if it's an exhaust houisihg yea it's probley too big unless it is an o-tirm (still big but not as big as a p-trim)

If it's on the compressor side you might have to wait for the boost but it should spool fine alittle laggy but ok

Also what compressor cover is it, if it is the comp. side

Where do i find the exhaust size on the housing it says 35 on 1 side of the exhaust flange and says 20357 on the other side cant find any other numbers but the exhaust is like the size of a small 14b turbo.

Look right inside the inlet of the exhaust(the rectangular flange) and it will have the a/r stamped inside. A 20357 is a turbonetics t-3. Their website says that is a .48 a/r but I also have one sitting in front of me with the same part # but it is really a .63 a/r. In order to find the true size of the compressor side, you will need to pull the compressor housing off and measure the compressor wheel. Here are a couple of pics to help you out.

I think we hav the same turbo mine is a .63 exhaust housing. If u hav the ar.70 does it take u long 2 spool it up or is it pretty decent?
Thnx

i dont think you can compare your two platforms to figure out spool time...

Actually, that is my old t04bv-trim. .60 ar compressor housing and it would spool to 22 psi by 4000 rpm on my 4g63.
So you guys think i should b fine running this turbo on my car at about 5-6 psi?and itll spool decently?with a nice kick?
Thnx

If I were you, Id sell it on ebay and get something a little smaller with a .48 a/r turbine housing. Not unless you want to run the sh1t out of your car to get it to spool.

Well how much do u guys think its work its got like 200 miles on it. and do u think i should try running it on my car 2 c how it worx b4 just jumping n selling it bcuz i hav another motor in the process of getting built and all forged internals and im gonna wanna boost more and this turbo will b able 2 b turned up in time 2 higher boost levels. so mayb this will b worth it if i were 2 keep it.and wouldnt it b good so when i launch i dont hav all this boost built up so i just spin and i hav boost at high rpm's cuz ur not in low rpm's racing 1/4 mile?
Thnx

You really need to find out the compressor size before you decide to run it. With a .70 a/r compressor housing, it sounds huge and it might hurt you more than help you.
