For engine offerings, I see them offering up the new joint Mitsu/Chrysler/Kia workup that they've been putting together for a few years. From what I've heard, it uses GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) for better mileage and efficiency, and will also take VERY well to forced induction. I could definitely see that (in n/a and turbo form) landing in the Eclipse for the next generation.

Until then, the offerings Talon7864 mentioned seem about right - the new MIVEC variant of the 4G64 that's in the new Galant is sure to come up as the base model, but it'd be awful nice if they'd give a DOHC offering again instead of all this SOHC crap. I suppose we'll see.

If Mitsu continues as they did for the 3rd gen, the Galant and Eclipse will share the same powerplant again. With 230hp in the new Galant, the Eclipse would probably be about 235-240 range, which isn't too bad, whether you like the looks or not.

THe front looks like a grand am with some type of ram air hood? the head lights look like they come from a cougar or something. It looks like they took body styles from other cars and threw them together.
