Hi all, right off the bat for those that want to say that this has already been asked, go ahead and try searching for a problem like mine and i will gladly admit i am wrong to post this.
But anyway, i just did a head gasket job on my G4CS swapped 97 Eclipse with 95 Eprom and v2 DSMlink.
things i did during the job:
put in new PTE 1000cc injectors, put on a used black top CAS, and cut out some "useless" wire plugs that were hanging around my engine bay.
since the car has ICS/IAC blockoff, no A/C etc. and a bunch of weird wiring done to it as well as what looked like original or unused wire plugs laying around, i decided i would clean up the harness and re route as well as cut out those plugs & wires.
But when i went to start the car up.. it wanted to only start on 2 cyl, checked spark and got that only cyl 1 & 4 are sparking, 2 & 3 aren't sparking at all, car won't even idle, let alone stay started.
in addition to this, on DSMlink i am not getting readings anymore from:
TPS volts, Throttle Pos, LTFT low & mid, and MAF.

what i have eliminated so far:
plugs, no matter what cyl 2 & 3 don't spark
wires: same ^^
ignition coil: a possibility, But i don't see why that would cause me to lose those readings on Link.
CAS, i even swapped my old green top which i know works, back in to no avail.
Igniter plug AKA ignition control module: swapped out with another old one to no avail. both of which worked before.
which leads me to the conclusion that maybe one of the plugs that i cut out i actually needed? (yes i know it was a stupid noob thing to cut them out without knowing where they actually go buy my thinking was if it isn't plugged into something its useless)
here are 3 of the 5 or 6 i cut out, the others were covered in grease and dirt and i know aren't going to change anything because of where they were, these 3 however concern me:

This guy i didn't see untill i started unwrapping the harness, once again, i don't know what provoked me to cut this out without knowing what it was too, but like i said it wasn't even plugged into anything.

These two, one of which is a plug that goes to the ignition coils, But oddly enough it wasn't the one connected to it and it was just chilling under the intake manifold, still attached to the harness, so i just kept the one that was connected when the car ran before and cut this one out. The other one looks like an old 2G CAS plug or different 1G CAS plug or something but can't distinguish exactly what, i used the existing TPS plug and CAS plug that were connected when the car was running good.

ANYONE have any suggestions?
(only thing i can think of is the crank sensor, but would it cut out random Link readings like that?)

thanks all!

So i took that link you sent me (thanks by the way) and looked at the connectors i cut out.. and came up with a bunch of useless ones except for:
ISC/IAC connector was my main concern, i have the full blockoff so this was disconnected and obviously unnesessary unless the computer takes readings from this somehow and displays MAF, TPS, throttle pos, and LTFT.
otherwise the only other two worth mentioning were the MDP connector, which is (in my mind) useless on a 6 Bolt that doesn't have the MDP sensor.
and the 3rd one that cought my attention was the Engine speed detection connector, which is a little blue one with 2 wires up in the center top of the firewall... It would really really help me if someone could tell me what exactly that does and what it would control on DSMlink, or what it would show in DSMlink. because i cut that out, once again because it wasn't connected to anything but now has me a little concerned.

OH also last thing i remember now that my "generator (alternator)" connector had one wire that got disconnected from aging and it just broke off of the connector. i also don't know exactly what role that wire plays but maybe it would cause all this?

I would fix that alternator connector first, that can come apart and cause a short. Did you test the PTU, CAS, if that check out good I would have the ecu check out. I should have an extra alternator connector in the garage if you need one.

First thing that popped into my head was the engine speed connecter. And boy am I glad I read this:

If you cut this plug out, you need to twist/solder the two wires together that go to the plug and heat shrink or electrical tape them. These need to be connected for the car to work properly.

Take care of that alternator plug as well. Get a new plug with some good size leads on it and solder it in. That one is just unsafe.

And the other triangular green plug you cut off that looked like the coil pack plug was probably your A/C compressor plug. They use the same one.

I do have a new alternator plug on the way :thumb:

i did for now however connect and shrink wrap those wires to allow me to at least start the car.

THANK YOU so much snowboarder for the help, that was the key, i hunted down those two wires amungst the 3 or 4 other ones from another little guy like that blue one that i cut :/ and i wired those 2 together and pow, it started :hellyeah: and ran on all 4 like it is supposed to.

However, i am still not recieving any readings from LTFT, MAF, TPS, throttle pos, OR closed loop/open loop.
could either of you or anyone else be able to tell me what sends DSMlink these readings?
because if i knew exactly what it gets these from i could track it down. Otherwise the car runs and idles like it did before once the car is warm (due to ICS/IAC blockoff).
and again, thanks for the help.

Oh and yes that triangle one was the for the A/C.

Does anyone know what gives the ECU the signals for LTFT, TPS, and MAF?
i mean if there is a single wire or something that may control signals for all of those?
thanks all.

and sorry moderators i apologize now for not editing my previous post instead of replying.. Didn't realize i was doing that.
