I have a 95 Eclipse GSX in which I have recently finished a 6 bolt swap and have been dying to drive....

I first had all types of issues with the clutch system got that taken care of.
(master cylinder, slave cylinder, tons of fluid and time...)

Then it wouldn't crank. Partially resolved.
(replaced starter, key will not crank, it's bypassed with push button start)

Then it would crank but not turn over.
(I now have 2 1g cas, I have 3 coil packs, 3 transistor packs...nothing)
I picked up a spare 95 e-prom ecu. Partially resolved.
(spark on 2 cylinders)

I had been flipping the cas, switching wires from 4123 to 3214, and it would start but die within 10 seconds. I checked spark but hadn't noticed until today there was only spark on 2 cylinders.

I have swapped the 6 bolt at this point here is what I am working with.

-switched the coil wires at the harness
so I could leave the plug wire order factory.

-did not swap the ecu pins for the injectors

- I have compression in each cylinder
obviously this isn't causing ignition issues.

- timing is correct and has been checked variously over the past 2 weeks of hell

I have searched vigorously but everyone who has been having issues like this have dsmlink and gm mafs and all types of things I do not have. This is a basic 6 bolt swap, fairly stock setup, and it's been really giving me a run for my money...quite literally. I have invested at least 2000.00 over what I planned to spend. Based on the fact I have replaced so many parts which I had never intended on replacing. At this point I am extremely frustrated and I really don't have anyone around here who knows about these cars, let alone would have a clue what to do with one which has simulated crank and cam positions through a previously model's used cam angle sensor....etc. :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

i have the same exact problem :( did a 6 bolt swap in my car and i m only ruuning on cylinders 1 and 4 ... 2 and 3 no spark change my coils wires plugs i have dsmlink v3 and no spark :(

See I'm on a stock ecu, and my wiring harness is unmodified aside from this damn aftermarket alarm which makes me want to punch people in the face for having installed....

I just went over to a buddies house who was having a no-start and his temp sensor was unplugged so it flooded, and wouldn't start...nice and easy. I read all the threads on here regarding this and most of them result in a simple plug, or bad component.

I have 2 ecu, 2 cas, 3 transistor packs, 3 coils, 2 temp sensors, 2 sets of wires, 2 sets of plugs, and no luck getting spark on all four cylinders. I was hoping this was something people regularly had experienced having this swap be so common.

However, it seems you and I are in a lonely boat up shits creek with out a paddle. . .

I had to buy a new multimeter since mine grew feet and walked away. So tomorrow I'll be going through the damn harness to see where this flipping thing is losing continuity..

Say you don't happen to have an aftermarket alarm
rigged into your poor cars wiring harness do you? I do
Did you reorder your plug wires or did you switch the wires in the harness before the coil? I'm pre coil
Did you switch the plugs at the ecu? I did not
Tried numerous coils/transistor packs from 1g and 2g? I did
Tried more than one cas? I have 2

Hopefully we can narrow down similarities and perhaps figure out our cause. Unless I get to my garage first and find where I lose signal...

A bad wiring harness seems far from likely in my case since the car has been in my possession and garage kept for the past 10 years. The car operated perfectly prior to the engine removal and 6 bolt swap. However, Murphy and his law are certainly lingering around my garage as I've replaced so many items I hadn't budgeted for at this point I am really not happy.

I haven't had much time to tinker with it. I just picked up a 6 bolt tonight I was too tired to drop off. I'll be heading up there tomorrow afternoon so I hope to get some headway. I was talking with someone else who told me where to test on the transistor pack for signal for the coils.

I actually got the pin numbers from the Haynes manual, but the last picture in the following link should help.

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/151528353-post8.html

Pin 1 is the left pin and pin 8 is the right. Pin 5 is empty.

Try this, it's my next stop..

Today I tried swapping my original ecu which had no spark.....

Fired up nothing for a few cranks, fired right up.

Next I noticed the timing belt had a rub mark...I had to run but I'm hoping it's just a wrong length bolt in the front case...Simple mistake happens to the best of us. IF it's not.... It's just another day in my shoes...
