2.0L auto awd, HX40 turbine housing selection T4

I have a HX40 sitting here along with a T4 DNP manifold, I will mod the DNP to be a true divided setup.

I'm trying to size out which housing to get, I figure something around the divided 1.1 A/R would be a good choice.

Does anyone have any insight?

I have a dry kit to install for stalling purposes if needed and I hope sometime next season to put in a converter better suited for that size of turbo.

You can modify the holset just a bit, and it will go right in a Ptrim Garrett housing

Both Borg Warner and Garrett PDFs I've come across in the past show that within the same footprint, divided housings will spool like an open housing ~60-65% the size and for the same power will need to be ~120% the size of its open alternative.

Easy example, if you're looking at a 1.15A/R divided T4 housing, expect response and boost threshold like a 0.69 Open T4 would have and power comparable to 0.96 Open housing.

My own experience reflects results that align with this "rule of thumb" also.

Thanks Chris, I'm not looking to have anyone machine anything for me right now unless its a good price and close to that 1.1A/R that I'm looking for.

The 17cm2 seems to be closest to that number and I'm on the hunt.

If I could find someone reliable to machine a housing close to that size for me I would.

I found a Brand new 19cm housing, so I'll be giving that a whirl on my stock bottom end for now. Well next year I will be, hopefully I can get my 10:1 motor built this winter but we will have to wait and see.
