I am not sure what the exact name for these are but I am need of a set of those metal washers with the rubber grommet attached to it. I tried to get from the dealer and they said I had to order the bolts with them so i did. Now today i received a phone call that to hear the bolts I had to pay upfront for did not have those with them. They better give me a refund. The worst part is I had to wait a week to get something I did not need. ugh. Any idea on where can i get these at?

They aren't really needed. They are just a form of lock washer. I haven't had any on mine since I bought the car. I used chrome Allen head bolts with chrome lock washers last time
I changed my valve cover.

What kind of valve cover are you using? If its the common one on DSMs then no you don't need them.

If this is the Hyundai cover that uses studs then you definitely need them. Time to start searching some hardware stores for them. But, I think I remember a thread on here where they had the part numbers listed. Search for it.

it is a 6 bolt valve cover from a 1990 eclipse. i thought i remember a frien of mine having his leak from these before which is why i was looking for them

Would it be easier to go to a hardware store and get a washer and a nylon or neoprene washer to go under it? I know I've seen the neoprene washers at my local Lowe's

A picture is worth a thousand words! If you're talking about the bolts that are used to hold down the spark plug cover then the rubber washer is not needed. I dont recall ever seeing rubber washers on the rest of the valve cover bolts... Your friends oil cap gasket could have been bad and that would allow oil to get in the spark plug valley of the valve cover (this is a common problem).

If it is a Mitsubishi valve cover than there is no gasket or seal on the bolts. The gasket seals around the bolt holes so no oil will come thru them.
